Deadpool: World's Greatest Vol. 7: Deadpool Does Shakespeare (Deadpool (2015-2017))

Vol. 7 Deadpool Does Shakspere is basically broken off into 2 halves.The first half is the usual stuff you would expect continuing from previous issues. Personally the brief interactions with Shiklah was entertaining but you know its cut short (go figure) so we can continue the Madcap subplot. After that you get into the into the Secret Empire tie in which was Marvel's big crossover event at the time. If you are aware of Deadpol's admiration for Captain America then it's entertaining watching the train wreck unfold.The second half is a wacky misadventure similar to Killustrated except based on Shakspere instead. If you think this inclusion is "left field" the trend that Marvel has done in recent years is have Deadpool visit classic literary works like Moby Dick so I understand why it was included. That said it was not my cup of tea because of the "olde" style of writing. Like you can get what is going on but mileage on the second half will vary.There is nothing "bad" that happens here but also nothing "amazing" that happens in this collected edition. Unless you are a completionist like me then you won't miss much skipping this volume.

Deadpool Does Shakespeare is a weird collection. First you have issues #26-27 which is about Pool hunting down Madcap and also foreshadows future issues with Captain America turning out to be a bad guy. After that there’s the Much Ado About Deadpool comic where DP is inserted into the world of Shakespeare. Obviously, that didn’t last long enough for its own collection so they had to throw in two regular issues to make a page count. The Shakespeare issue is Ok, #26-27 are much more interesting.

Half of the book consists of Deadpool being put into the best of Shakespeare’s plays, and putting his own delightful twist on them. The other half of the book is great, too!

Given as a gift....he loved it. Had zero complaints and couldn't have been happier.

This comic includes the issues #26, and #27 plus the comic "Much Ado About Deadpool". #26, "Heart-Shaped Box" has Deadpool in New York with his girlfriend Shiklah celebrating Valentine's Day. But someone is intent on interrupting the festivities and that someone is Madcap who left him a human heart inside a box of chocolates. Deadpool leaves it with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Preston to run the DNA on it and find out who it is. The heart belongs to an Eastern European Torpedo gang member named Kris Kipiniak. S.H.I.E.L.D. can't go in so they're sending in Deadpool. Deadpool goes in katanas slashing but finds out that Kipiniak's brother who lived with him is also missing. So he goes to to their apartment and finds Madcap there. Or does he? It's great seeing Shiklah in this one even if it's only briefly. Her and Deadpool are a deadly combination, especially to each other.In #27, "And Now For Something Completely Different", this takes place when Captain America was altered by a cosmic cube and was working as a sleeper agent for Hydra. There are three Captain Americas at the Lincoln Memorial causing trouble and Agent Coulson has called in Captain America who was supposed to be working on something with Deadpool that night. So Deadpool decides to help out with the situation. It turns out that the three Captain Americas are from the future. A bad future that the current Captain America creates and they hope to change it by killing Captain America. But Deadpool and Agent Coulson can't let that happen. The interplay between Coulson and Deadpool is hilarious.The last one and probably my favorite is "Much Ado About Deadpool" where he gets dropped into the land of Shakespeare. Once there he meets a ghost proclaiming to be his dead father that he must avenge by killing the king who has killed him and married the Queen (Hamlet). Then he meets two women, one who wants him to kill the king because he is the father of her love, Romeo and her sworn enemy(Romeo and Juliet) and the other woman wants to rule in the king's place as the Macbeths (Macbeth). The King swears that the two women were his ungrateful daughters Goneril and Regan, making him King Lear and cuts off Deadpool's head before being pursued offstage by a bear (A Winter's Tale). Deadpool just wants to go back home and has no idea how to get there so he finds himself in the library with Prospero (The Tempest) who lends him the books he needs to figure out what exactly is going on and what to do next. As is typical with any Deadpool comic or Shakespeare tragedy there are a lot of dead bodies lying at the end of the book. The writer really played with the Shakespeare tales and made them fun and very enjoyable. This was a fabulous book that contained three great comics all in one package and you really can't ask for more than that. they really do know how to get the whole shakespeareian vibe going it had me thinking shakespeare the whole while i read itAll the world's a stage, and he's a major player! Forsooth, Deadpool will face a comedy of errors when he gets trapped in the works of William Shakespeare! Whether it turns out to be a midsummer night's dream, or much ado about nothing, it's sure to be Deadpool as you like it! Fingers crossed that all's well that ends well, so Wade can return to the tragedy that is his regular life in the Marvel Universe!COLLECTING: DEADPOOL 26-27, MATERIAL FROM 21

Marvel's really upping it's ante at price gouging fans of Deadpool. This collects only 3 stand alone issues, 26, 27 and 21. The first 2 issues are solid, the first being a Valentine's Day issue with Deadpool going on a date with Shiklah when Madcap gets involved. The second was a precurser to Secret Empire. The final issue is pure garbage. Deadpool is in a Shakespearian world for some reason. It was an absolute chore to even finish. Hey Marvel, how about waiting and actually giving us 6 issues of content before putting out a collection?

BEWARE!! The shoe I got was not bright red, but a very, very dark red, almost black. Sent it back.

Big fan. But had to do Shakespeare so much at school not my cup of tea. Also not a fan of “filler episodes”. Still funny tho.

This comicbook is somewhat amusing, but makes no sense at all. Reading a second time is a waste.Not worth the money.
