Does this adapter allow you to boot to a PXE environment?

Im hoping they pulled a switcheroo on the listed item.... but as of 11/17/2021 this listing is for a Microsoft Surface Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. so if you were to ask does the mini displayport to hdmi support PXE boot the answer is NO.....

YMMV, I just tried this right now and within Device Manager on Windows 10 (1903) under the Surface Ethernet Adapter within its properties I can manually set a VLAN ID. So the support is there. Hope this help.

will this adapter work with a Mac?

Don’t know for sure. It’s a USB NIC, so, in theory, it should, but the question is whether there are drivers available for Mac.

Silly, perhaps, but need to know. does this work with an hp tablet or laptop (rather than surface) running windows 10?

Not silly at all, actually depends on what you are going to use it for, if its simply for use within the Windows OS as an Ethernet adapter then you should be fine (I just tested it on a Dell and HP laptop running Windows 10), if you are planning on using it for ipv4 or ipv6 PXE/Net Booting YMMV as that feature is depended on if HP implemented the driver this needs to function for PXE/NetBooting (This was a rabbit hole I went down for a work project). Hope that helps.
