I've had TP Link Tapo cameras before and they have always been great. This one is no exception. So easy to configure and install. The battery lasts for months but charges quickly (I charge mine with a USB powerbank to save having to remove them from the wall but they are easy to take down if needed). The image is super-clear and you can upgrade to cloud storage if required, although they will record to a MicroSD card. I like the cloud storage option and always use it. The camera is small but has a powerful light which can be turned on and off in the Tapo app. You can also speak through the camera using the internal speaker, also from the app. The motion detection is very customisable and it doesn't take long to find the range of sensitivity that works for your own needs.

I bought these cameras as a gift for my parents, who "have everything". They loved the idea and we have installed it quite easily. We charge it via power banks. The quality is great and your night vision outstanding! You need to make sure that there is a WiFi availability where it is placed. We didn't buy any additional storage options at the moment - maybe in the future.

The best & easiest wireless security camera ever. I Bought this camera when I upgraded my internet service and no longer needed those ethernet cables that physically connected my office to my home internet & security cam (separate building more than19 meters away). Takes a few hours to charge up through the USB-C connection but claims a full charge lasts upto 180 days. I did not want the eye sore of a solar panel charger so I went for this one. Even if I don't feel like removing it to charge when the time comes (which is really easy) I can just charge it where it sits with a USB-C adapter and extention lead. The visual is incredibly good and you can even use the sound function as an intercom through your Mobile phone or Ipad. As far as storage, I highly recommend subscribing to Tapo's Cloud options. I highly recommend this device. In fact, I am going to order another one for the other end of my house!

Great cameras, perfect for a cheap set up, depending on where they are placed and how much traffic there is depends on how long the battery lasts, east to install, the screw plugs broke easily so used my own but the picture quality and sound quality is great for the price and they are quite small so easy to place. Would give another star if maybe it could rotate when needed

Absolutely brilliant. Had this going for weeks and battery still 85% brilliant lights on it. Great night vision and loud speakers. Highly recommend. It’s at the bottom of my garden and still connects to wifi. I can check on my chickies night and day. I brought 2 as I was so impressed with the first one and I will definitely get another one soon. I charge it with a battery pack so I don’t need to take it down.

Initial opinion was good, camera looks and feels quality, easy to install and set up. Camera has been up now for just over a week on a telegraph pole around 10 metres from the house and a WiFi extender in a bedroom window. The signal was terrible initially, so I’ve trimmed a hedge so that there’s direct line of sight, quality has improved slightly but still not good, glitching and pixelated. Next step will be to hard wire the WiFi extender into the broadband router and see if that improves the performance of the camera. I really do not want to go down the route of installing an outside WiFi extender which will cost me more money I don’t want to spend, I bought this camera at half price and if it was at full price I would be really unhappy at this point. I have had two blink cameras on the same telegraph pole For several years and they have worked flawlessly, but one of them is starting to give up the ghost and I decided to get a new camera because you now have to pay a subscription to blink which I am unwilling to do. The other thing that so far isn’t performing as I expected is the motion detection, the blink camera would pick up movement right at the end of our drive as people or cars came around the bend on our drive, this Tapo camera seems not to be able to do this and only activates when people or vehicles are half way up our drive, I have tried all the settings and apart from pointing the camera sensor directly at the end of our drive it seems like the sensor distance isn’t as good as my blink cameras. Picture quality is hard to comment on at the moment because the recordings are not very good at the moment, at 2k you’d expect decent quality and definitely should be better than the blink. Three stars at this point for the camera being half price,good build quality and easy to set up and install. I will update the review if the recording and motion sensor quality improves, if not I will have to think about returning the camera and trying a different one. To summarise I’d say these cameras WiFi range is poor and you will need a strong WiFi signal to get the best from them, or be willing to install and outside WiFi extender to reach the cameras.

Very easy to setup and mount! The image quality is superb! I had to get a better camera for my front door as the old one had bad quality and didn’t record an important event which could help my neighbors. This is exactly what I needed, and I understand now that the quality of the camera reeeally matters! Very great functions within the app, and IMPORTANT GET A MICRO SD CARD FOR IT. I already had one, but if you don’t you want be able to record videos unless you pay for the cloud. I’m really happy with the purchase and I totally recommend it!

Image quality is pretty good, it's 2K and it looks like 2K. Colours are a bit saturated but otherwise no real complaints. Night time IR is OK, range is fairly limited but it works OK. Power consumption is fairly low, if you have a load of movement being detected it will burn through the charge but for a dozen or so detections per day it's a few % of battery. If you add a solar panel it will stay close to 100% almost indefinitely. The TAPO cloud sub isn't cheap but if you have an H200 hub you can set the camera's up to record to the hub which you can secrete somewhere safe in your home. Where it's let down is the software, I have a full TP internet mesh solution so compatibility shouldn't be an issue but the camera's are slow to wake up and often it doesn't trigger a recording if the event is relatively close to the edge of the monitored area. It will however record all manner of other movement if you don't set the trigger areas with thought to exclude large plats that move in the wind. For just a bit of extra home security it's a low cost option but I wouldn't rely on it for anything more taxing.
