Shipping: 5 Stars From placing the order to me receiving the item it was literally 4 days. the adapter came in a small retail box in a simple padded manilla envelope. there were no marks or damage whatsoever to either the envelope or the box. I was given no reason to contact the company so I do not have an opinion on the customer service, but if the other reviews are anything to go on I imagine it is fantastic. Product: 5 Stars My original plan was not to use this to connect to a PS3 but to a PC so that is what this review is for. While researching the different PS2 controller adapters I noticed that there wasn't much of a standard, so I simply picked one that was not only cheap in price but also seemed (from the reviews) of high quality. The design of this adapter is simple choosing function over form. the product is the same black color as the controllers i have, and the thickness/strength of the cable and plastic is strangely identical to that of the original controller and plug, which is a wonderful surprise. the adapter connects to the controller smoothly and tightly with no play between the two. the usb end of the adapter seems pretty standard but nonetheless connects to my laptop tightly with no play. The cable between the female plug and the usb male is very short in length, only about 1 1/2". I personally don't believe you could need more length than this as the controller cable is plenty long enough, if you need a 20ft cable for your controller I think you should consider moving the couch a little closer to the t.v. I am running an HP 530 Laptop and Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit I decided at first to connect the adapter to the controller before connecting the adapter to the laptop. after later experimenting I found that it makes no difference what you connect first, my laptop actually detected the adapter alone. upon connecting the adapter to the laptop, win 7 automatically installed a driver and the device was labeled "USB input device". This took all of 10 secs, and once this had finished I decided to try it out. The program I used for the initial test was ePSXe to play a PSX Game. The emulator detected the controller input no problem. I was able to assign all the buttons on the controller to various buttons in the emulator. During gameplay everything worked great, There was no lag in button presses at all no matter how fast paced the button mashing was. After this I tried several different emulators all of which had no issues with detection or lag whatsoever. PC games on the other hand were more difficult to use the controller with as most of the games I have do not have native support of gamepads, but this is a fault with the software not the adapter in any way. this problem is easily solved though using software such as Joy2Key or Pinnacle Game Profiler. Conclusion: 5 Stars If you are looking for a low priced high quality adapter to connect your PS2 controller to a pc, look no further, this will satisfy without a doubt.

I purchased these adapters specifically for using them in a DIY Retro-Pi setup. This device had no issues with interfacing with original Sony controllers, or the Raspberry Pi 3. I did not connect these to anything else. I did not use the plastic controller port, nor did I use the USB connector on the end for my build. I opted to use the controller board to connect directly to the USB pins on the Pi, as well as the PCB for the PS-ONE. The version that I received had a small "brick" on the cable, which is where all of the components were housed. The housing came apart with a gentle bit of force, and it revealed a rectangular connector that I could now use for directly solder connections to. I preferred this configuration, as my build reused the original controller ports on the front of the PS-ONE, and I needed to save as much space as possible inside. Those PS-ONES are small. Everything barely fits, but it does! I did use a multi-meter to check for what connector went to what part of the board, as well as what connector went to what pin on the USB cable, as I don't trust any products to lay things out in a way that makes sense. Once I knew my pin-outs, I soldered everything up, and turned it on without any additional software or configuration. I was prompted on startup of EmulationStation to map the controller buttons, and after that, everything just "worked". Do note, that you will have power to the other controller port, but you won't be able to use two controllers with only one adapter. If you want to use both, you will need to cut the traces in between the two ports on the PS-ONE board. Just because the controller lights up, doesn't mean that the adapter is going to magically support two controllers being connected at the same time. For my build, I only needed a single controller, and this works perfectly. If I wanted to add a controller, I would still use this product, as the controller section is smaller and easier to work with than the larger V shaped dual controller options. It would be easier to have two separate PCB's with connections that are rectangular than a weird V shape. The above statement only applies if you go the same route as me with my build. If you are using the adapter by itself or are directly plugging in your controllers to the original connector attached to the cable, ignore this. I'll be purchasing this same item again when it comes time to make another Pi-Station, as I know that this is the perfect part for the job.

Seriously. At least you get to enjoy the coffee. I'm sure this thing works just fine for a lot of folks, but for the random few such as myself, this adapter did not recognize my PS2 Dualshock 2 controller. Rather, it recognized it as a different kind of controller. It only recognizes the joysticks, the joystick buttons (L3 and R3), and the Start and Select buttons. Nothing else. Even when viewing it on my PC, it only shows up as having four buttons. The others aren't even present when you try to calibrate it or view the properties. So yes, this was a waste of time and money. However, I would like to say that Amazon Customer Service Chat is literally the fastest and most efficient support team I have ever dealt with. Within about seven minutes (I counted), they issued me a refund with no problems. They even told me I did not have to return the item (the third-party seller I bought from did not state that they do not accept returns). I am and have always been very impressed with Amazon's level of customer service. They made this experience much better than it would have been. But if you're just itching to throw $7 at a cheap piece of hardware that may or may not work, know that Amazon has your back regardless of the outcome. And Starbucks can keep their coffee.

It isn't the best-looking of the adapters available, and the converter element looks like some hobby box with a sticker covering up whatever holes are there, but if you simply want to use a single PS* controller on your PC, then this particular adapter will work rather nicely. Not sure about multitap support, but you should be able to plug one in and work multiple controllers on it. No software came with this particular adapter that allows definition of players, so a multitap may not work for it. Ideal for PlayStation emulation, accepts analog mode (Back when switching between digital 8-way and analog was a big deal), overall a worthwhile purchase that exceeded whatever little expectations I had for it. Technical specifications; All measures are rough: - 1x PlayStation controller input connector - 1x USB output connector - 1x adapter unit (Handles conversion), 1.3' x 1' - 2x pieces of wire; - From PS connector to adapter unit, 3' - From adapter unit to USB connector, 10' - 1x odd sticker labelled "CONVERTER" Pros: If you're playing with yourself, then this adapter is pretty alright. I will update this with more information as time goes on to test rumble support and stuff like that. Cons: My particular unit recognizes two inputs? I assume one is either for a second player, using a controller chip to support two players or whe plugged into PC, it simultaneously functions as both a PlayStation 3 and PC connector and they're both being caught by Windows under the same name. Regardless, makes setup in certain instances a little bit harder.

I have some pc games I want to play that pretty much require a controller, but I didn't want to pay $30 - $50 or even more. I don't have a ps3, but I did have some ps2 controllers just laying around. Since this was a little cheaper than other x-to-usb adapters meant specifically for computers, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. Both Windows7 and WindowsXP installed a working driver as soon as I plugged it in. It was immediately able to be configured to work with both old and new games, and a few new games didn't even need to be configured. Since I hadn't used a Playstation2 controller in so long, I briefly forgot that I had to press the analog button to make the analog work, but as soon as I remembered it the analog worked. I didn't have to calibrate it, install specific drivers, etc. as I remember doing years ago with other console controller-to-usb adapters. Since this was so cheap I got multiple. One is in the room of my younger kids, and they aren't exactly the most gentle with it. One travels around with my husband's laptop, so is exposed to cold and heat, gets banged around, etc. Both of these are still going strong, so they are durable. So I don't know how they work with ps3s, but it is more than worth the price even if you just use it with a computer.

Basically I got this to connect my old PS1 Dual shock Game controller to my PC, and it does a wonderful job (installed no problems), but need to find a driver for the vibration motor..... any idea's folks? now I have to find some Games that will use it...... Okay first thing, its Nice heavy duty Plastic and the male playstation socket clicks into the the female adapter, nice and solidly, it actually wasn't the model I ordered but a similar one (has a little box between the usb and the playstation adapter, I'm sure you'll see on the picture displayed that it doesn't have anything apart from the short wire between the usb and the adapter. my windows 7 64bit (home premium) recognized it Immediately as a dual joystick, of course would really benefit from a drivers disk, for the vibration motor (for windows/mac/xbox360) I'm sure its recognized immediately by PS3 (don't have a PS3 to test this out) you can send me one, with Infamous and Infamous 2 if you want lol only kidding people In short it does what it says it will do, probably a little more with the drivers pack all in all a worthy Item and a great purchase.....

i had bought this about 4 months ago and i haven't had any problems with it at all. most of the games i play are fighters so there is no need for sixaxis or the trigger buttons like on a dual shock 3 controller. I wanted another controller so that i when i have guests over i can kick their Arse but buying another ps3 remote would be too much and it seemed like such a waste so buying this seemed like the best bet. thus far it has worked surprisingly well considering its price and has given my old (still in great condition) ps2 controller some good use minor issue: has a small input lag in comparison to the dual shock 3 in SOME games its hardly noticeable but can throw the timing off some combos and such bottom line: if u have an old ps2 controller hidden in some closet it is a great buy. whether u only have occasional guests or ur just going cheap on another controller and it also makes a decent GAMEPAD for some of my emulators as a added bonus

I bought this device in order to use my PS2 controller to play games on Steam using my laptop. The converter supplied power to my gaming controller, however, my laptop was unable to recognize the device, stating that either the controller or converter was faulty. The controller is functional, as it works on PS2. So I am left to assume that this adaptor is not functional in connecting my controller to my device. None of the adaptor websites used to connect a PS2 controller to a computer seemed to recognize the device through this adaptor either. Very disappointing, was looking forward to trying it out as I had read good reviews, particularly for those folks trying to connect their controllers to a computer. Unfortunately that was not my experience.

Fait très bien le travail, aucun inputs lag est marche directement sur Windows 11 sans avoir besoin d’installer quoique ce soit ! On peut mapper les touches directement sur l’émulateur ou sur joytokey pour les jeux pc.

They provide you with drivers. It's on a google doc and looks sketchy, but it is safe. Sometimes the drivers are needed, sometimes it's worse to have them, it's really easy to install and uninstall to suite your needs. (Installs quickly and just appears in programs and features or in your windows search bar to right click uninstall. No need to go searching for files.) My guitar hero controller is a GH2 wired controller for PS2 and it works well. There's the occasional issue but this is because my controller is old and well loved (aka, well abused and used.) and NOT the adapters fault. My wireless guitar hero PS2 controller DOES NOT WORK, but this very well might be the receiver as they are known to go bad and it is old and has been in storage for years.. And I cannot find the receiver for my other two wireless ones to try. So I'm not taking that into account for my overall rating. It would only work for a second at a time then cut out again, flashing on and off. Red light was steady however, so it might not have been the adapter. Just thought I should mention this, just in case.

I am very disappointed that the cable didn't work with the guitar hero guitar controller for ps2 on my ps3 to play a guitar hero game, just a few buttons worked, but its was only the blue and orange button. If you are gonna this cable to play guitar hero on ps3 with ps2 guitar hero guitar controller, don't buy this, you are gonna get scammed.
