The epic action of this sci-fi thriller unfolds in a near future inwhich an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day ofcombat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicidemission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicablythrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combatover and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries withincreasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski(Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, eachrepeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy. Review: Stuck on repeat! - One of my favorite time-loop movies, and if I'm being honest, one of my favorite films in general. The concept is so tight and well-executed that it never feels repetitive, just sharper and more intense each time the day resets. Tom Cruise is crazy, but as usual turns in a great performance going from completely out of his depth to battle-hardened in a way that actually feels earned. It’s smart, funny, emotional when it needs to be, and packed with incredible action. I can rewatch it anytime and never get tired of it. Review: great action movie - As a lover of movies in 4K physical format, this is one of the ones you have to have in your collection, it is very good, with great effects and a very sharp image.

Masterful
This is one of my favorite movies. I have had it for years on standard bluray and have seen it countless times. The 4K presentation is a worthy upgrade. For home theater and AV enthusiasts, to be frank, get the movie. The audio is demo-worthy. Those with a capable subwoofer will be impressed with the LFE throughout this movie. Subs will get a workout. The dolby atmos track is another standout. It is active and very dynamic. Video quality is very good. There is some grain but this is a clean movie. And, there is plenty of detail. Contrast is far better than the standard bluray and the blacks are especially deep with excellent detail in darker scenes. The story itself is quite good. It is easy to be pulled in and remained hooked the entire movie. Absolutely excellent 4K presentation and a worthy addition to any movie collection.

Fantastic movie, Flawless 4K execution
I’ve been counting down the days until my pre-ordered Edge of Tomorrow 4K disc arrived. I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t an earlier 4K release, but I literally fist-pumped when I saw the pre-order announced. I’ve been replacing my standard Blu-Ray collection with 4K discs as they become available. Some are absolutely fantastic, some are barely acceptable. I’m probably up to around 100 4K discs now, but I don’t think I’ve wanted to see another 4K release this much. Here’s why: I’m a little surprised that Edge of Tomorrow wasn’t a bigger hit. It’s a nearly perfect sci-fi film with everything going for it. It’s funny, action-packed, great cast, and good writing with a great storyline. It’s even got romance if that wasn’t enough. Blunt and Cruise have great chemistry and they match each other’s energy level perfectly. It’s hard for Tom Cruise to be upstaged in a film, but Emily Blunt manages to pull it off. If you didn’t know better, you would swear she was the bigger star just by her presence on the screen. Sadly this is the time we see Bill Paxton in a major movie, but he absolutely nails his performance. The amazing thing about him is that he never outwardly tries to be funny in this role; he just is. The ensemble cast is better than your average sci-fi film and everything just works. The 4K presentation is very good. It’s not quite a reference disc like Dune or the Revenant, but that’s due more to the source material. There just aren’t many bright colors to take full advantage of the UHD format. Fortunately the black levels look fantastic, which is good because there are a lot of them. I’m very happy that I switched over to an OLED TV to take full advantage of a film like this. The resolution is great, with only the slightest hint of grain in a few shots. The resolution is so good that I even noticed the limits of the CGI in one scene that I hadn’t noticed before. The audio is fantastic. Vocals come through clearly with a very immersive sound experience. There are definitely other films out there with more active surround effects, but they often seem contrived. This audio experience feels very natural. One of my favorite effects is Cage running around a dune circling the mimic. It’s spectacular. This is one of my top five favorite sci-fi movies of all time and I’m happier than ever to have it on 4K. If you already have the Blu-Ray and a good 4K upscaling player, you may not notice that much of an improvement, but it is there. I’ve noticed a few split-second flaws here or there in many 4K releases, but I didn’t pick up on a single one in Edge of Tomorrow. If you love the movie, you owe it to yourself to get the best version out there and this is absolutely it.

Edge of Tomorrow in Dolby Atmos – A Clear Upgrade Over the Blu-ray’s 7.1 Mix
If you’re wondering whether the 4K UHD of Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow is worth upgrading from the Blu-ray for audio alone, the answer is an emphatic YES! The Blu-ray’s DTS-HD MA 7.1 track is already excellent: detailed, nicely balanced, with punchy bass and clean surround steering. But the UHD’s Dolby Atmos mix takes the same core elements and expands them vertically and horizontally, giving the soundtrack a far larger sense of space. Dropships and gunfire arc overhead, mech suits slam with palpable weight, and alien shrieks pan above and around you — something the Blu-ray can’t fully reproduce. Dynamics are also improved. The Atmos track has slightly deeper LFE and more headroom, so explosions and engines hit harder without crushing dialogue. Ambient details — like rain, rotor wash, or the faint hum of tech — float naturally through the room, adding realism that the 7.1 mix flattens a bit. That said, the DTS-HD MA version still sounds great if you don’t have height speakers; it’s tight, aggressive, and far from a slouch. But for anyone running a full Atmos setup (especially 7.2.4), the UHD’s Dolby Atmos soundtrack is the definitive way to hear this movie: wider, taller, and more immersive while retaining crystal-clear dialogue and authoritative bass. Verdict: Both tracks are strong, but the Dolby Atmos mix on the 4K UHD is the clear winner, making the upgrade a no-brainer for anyone who values top-tier home-theater sound. PLEASE NOTE: I critically listened to this 4k disc at 0.0db, Reference Level, on my ELAC Debut 2.0 (F5.2 towers and C6.2 center) 7.2.4 AV system with Dual REL 10” subwoofers. I reserve 5 stars for movies that are Demo worthy, which this is! Thank you and I hope this was helpful!!

I recieved the steelbook UK version of this move which only has BR and 4K disc. This is not the US version that I was expecting which comes with the Digital Copy as well. The back cover didn't indicate Movies Anywhere nor does the front cover indicate "digital".
