It's easy to use and does its job, I love it
A very good iron; it has settings for various fabric types and also sprays water. It isn't heavy to handle and is made of durable material.

Heats Quickly and Works Great
This iron heats up quickly and glides smoothly over fabrics, making ironing simple and efficient. The steam function helps remove wrinkles with ease, and it's lightweight enough for comfortable everyday use.

Lightweight, Heats Fast, and Works Well
I will admit it... ironing is one of my least favorite chores, but this iron makes it a little less painful. It heats up quickly, glides smoothly over fabric, and does a good job removing wrinkles without having to go over the same spot repeatedly. The nonstick plate moves easily and did not snag any of the fabrics I tried. I also appreciate that it is lightweight. It is easy to maneuver and does not make my arm feel tired when I have a bigger pile of clothes to tackle. The automatic shutoff is one of my favorite features because I am the type of person who gets halfway out the door and suddenly wonders, "Did I turn the iron off?" Having that extra safety feature gives me peace of mind. It feels well made, is easy to fill, and the steam function worked well for everyday wrinkles. Overall, this is a solid, no fuss iron that does exactly what it is supposed to do. It will not make me love ironing, but it does make me finish the job a whole lot faster.

Iron
Good price, very light weight and good water storage/steam, but primary bought to dry iron jean patches and 1 to 3 non-steam settlings are on the low temperature side.

Stick with quality!!! Stick with reliability!
I have my original old Black and Decker steam iron, but I wanted to upgrade. I searched out on Amazon front a couple nice new fangled ones, off brand, and bought them. Well, they showed up and I tested them out. Should have figured being “off brand” quality is questionable. Then I came across a set of Black and Decker steam irons for a great price! So I sent back the others and purchased the B&D iron set. Least to say, they are wonderful! Smooth ironing and great steam control!! So easy to use.B&D has never failed me. Now I have what. need and from a trusted reliable company!! Definitely won’t make that mistake again!! Thank you BLACK & DECKER!!!

Very basic iron ... awkward to fill or empty water.
I don't iron as much as I had in the past ... in fact very little. The old iron I had finally gave up the ghost so I needed a new, basic iron, and this is a VERY basic iron but seems adequate for occasional use. One of the things I did not like about it is there is no way to turn off the steam function if you need to use dry high heat (which my old iron had). If you have water in the reservoir, you need to empty it, wherein lies the other issue. The small water fill slot is somewhat awkward and you have to pour the water in very slowly and at an awkward angle. If you want to empty the reservoir, it has to come out the same slot and you have to turn the iron upside down and rotate through various angles to get all the water out. In my opinion, this is a very poor design. Speaking of water, the instruction sheet states that you can use tap water. Depending on your water hardness, this may be an issue in the long term as minerals will tend to build up. You can descale using vinegar, but you can avoid having do that by using distilled water, which has no minerals. The instructions also say to not use whole-house softened water. Likely this is due to the fact that most softening systems use salt to soften the water, this too can build up and ruin the iron. To stay safe, again I would recommend using distilled water (not purified drinking nor spring water, which contain minerals), which is usually readily available at most grocery stores and not very expensive. It does have an auto-off feature if laying flat or on its side for over three minutes, or if it sits vertically for over eight minutes (though laying flat for three minutes will likely burn your fabric and may start a fire). I did not try out this feature but if it works, it works. It does have a spray nozzle if you need extra dampness to get a stubborn wrinkle(s) out. When you turn the heat selection dial to the steam function (4 or higher) there is a bit of resistance felt on the dial and perhaps this is due to a mechanical function of using steam. Not sure, but it may be normal. It does NOT do vertical steaming (i.e. steam when iron is held vertically), which is useful for removing wrinkles from fabrics hanging vertically, such as curtains, without having to remove them and lay them flat. There are other models and brands that offer this feature, but at a bit more cost. The iron uses 1200 watts of electricity (which is 10 amps on a 120 volt service) so keep that in mind when using and be sure you are not using another high wattage appliance (such as microwave, toaster or hair-dryer) on the same circuit at the same time if say, you are using a 20 amp circuit, which is normally the highest on a single household 120 volt circuit. SUMMARY: For the cost, this appears to be an adequate basic iron for occasional use. If you need more features, you can find those in other models, though at a higher cost. The biggest issue I have with this is the awkward water filling/emptying.

Works great! I've only used it on my cotton clothes so far. It heats up to the desired temperature pretty quickly.
