Good quality
Bought this tablet twice because it works well for my 8 year old. She did crack the screen on the first one but it was well abused before it finally lost to her torturous ways. Good battery life and easy to ise

To the not-parent looking for an honest review
I see a lot of the reviews here are parents buying this for a child under 12 and just to get it out of the way I agree this tablet would be perfect for a little kid, it's very basic and has great parental controls. However if you are not a parent and are just looking for a tablet, maybe because you wanna watch movies or do some light gaming on something that's not your phone, then keep in mind what I said about this being a very basic tablet. While the tablet is technically Android OS, it has its own Amazon app store. Almost like if your FireTV was a tablet. This appstore doesn't contain a YouTube app so you can't watch movies on YouTube though this Appstore does have most streaming services Like Disney Plus and Netflix, even Crunchyroll as downloadable apps. This isn't as big of an issue if you mostly use streaming services anyway. I just thought the lack of a YouTube app didn't make sense and was mildly annoying. As for the light gaming you DO have access to Luna, Amazon's cloud gaming service, so you can play Fortnite, and there's also Minecraft and Roblox in the Appstore itself. But no Teamfight Tactics unfortunatly. From the beginning, before even buying the tablet, you can choose to recieve locksceen ads from Amazon in exchange for selling you the tablet at a cheaper price and then get rid of the ads later for $15, OR you can choose to pay a higher price for the tablet in the first place and not have the lockscreen ads at all. Though it’s not the greatest tablet in existence, its capabilities and hardy battery life far exceed my expectations for its generous price, and it perfectly fits the needs of the minimalist looking for a slightly-bigger-than-your-phone-not-too-big-though screen to watch movies or their favorite series on, maybe listen to music, read a book, have the book be read to you, send or receive some emails, even get away with playing a few half decent games.

Great Value Compared to Traditional Kindle
Just received and so far quite happy with the speed and performance, time will tell on the supposed longer battery life than our original Fire 7 it replaced. We were surprised to find the battery was totally discharged when we received it and would not even turn on without charging. Charging DOES still take 4 hours just like the old unit, a little inconvenient in this age of fast charging but even with a higher wattage charger it only shortens that time slightly (from what we've read). Our original was from 2012 and was setup more as an e-reader that could go online. This one is a tiny tablet that happens to have the Kindle e-reader app installed. We'll see how much we can customize our library to make it feel more familiar. Given the price was 1/2 that of a new Kindle paperwhite I think we'd choose this one again in a heartbeat if it works as well as our original Fire 7 that lasted 13 years!

It's a great tablet, but not for most people.
This is either a great tablet or a terrible one, depending on who you are and what you want out of a tablet. If you are a kid who wants to play games, this is not for you. It simply cannot run many of the more popular games out there. It's just too slow and limited. If you are a student that is looking for something to do your homework on, this is not your tablet. Too slow, too limited, and the inability to run Google apps is a serious issue. I was able to attend a Zoom class with it, so there's that, I suppose. If you want to create videos, no. Just no. It can be done, but any other tablet would be better! For work? Only if you have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Even then your phone would be a better choice. So who is this tablet good for? Anyone going on a long trip. It's small and easy to carry. You can use your wired ear buds. It can use huge SD cards. You can load it up with enough movies, TV series, Kindle and Audible books, and music to get you through months of waiting for flights or on long train rides. It's something to hand to your kids when they get crabby in the car. It is perfect for people who are worried about their tablet being stolen. Openly using an iPad makes you a potential target in some places. A Fire 7 tablet? Not so much. And if it is stolen it is easily replaceable and Amazon makes it easy to clear everything off the tablet remotely. Anyone who wants to protect their data. Using public Wi-Fi is sketchy. One can set up a Fire Tablet without any bank or credit card or other sensitive data on it so that there isn't as much risk. Anyone who wants a really cheap color Kindle. No, the Fire Tab 7 doesn't have a Paper White screen and some people may not like reading on it. But the screen is good enough for the vast majority of readers. The tablet is light enough to hold for hours, and the screen is large enough to hold a typical book. I have several better tablets but if I just want to read I grab the Fire 7. Anyone who is broke. The Fire 7 doesn't do most things as well as most other tablets, but it CAN do them (in most cases). If you can't afford anything better, then the Fire 7 is great!
