I purchased two of these water bottles for my nieces (ages 5 and 8) during our summer "cousin camp," and they were an absolute hit! As someone who uses an adult-sized motivational water bottle myself, I loved that the kids could have matching ones with the same positive, motivational sayings. The bottles were perfect for decorating with stickers, which the girls loved doing together. With two competitive kiddos, having the hourly motivation markings turned hydration into a fun challenge - they were constantly checking to make sure they'd had enough water each hour! I made sure to get age-appropriate sizes, and the colors were exactly what they hoped for. The fact that their motivational messages matched mine made them feel so grown-up and special. This bottle is perfect. I bought this as a replacement for and old water bottle I used for my walks and bike rides. It came with a straw in place, but that is removable and it still functions beautifully. It can be set to locked shut, or easy open flip top. It was the perfect replacement!

Damn this one was close to getting 5 stars because so far it's met my energy drinking needs in hiding monster inside it so my bosses don't know it's not water lol, buttt it's definitely not leak proof that's straight crap!!! Must be upright at all times maybe slanted a bit is okay but not much or yu'll lose yur liquids

After the glass water bottle that I loved shattered on my tile kitchen floor (within 3 weeks of purchase), I decided to buy a plastic one. I like the large, clear white print and the motivational comments on this attractive bottle. I purchased the Interstellar color and I can easily see the amount of water left in the bottle. It is hard to believe but motivational water bottles really do work. I was drinking practically nothing and now find myself trying to "beat the clock". This bottle is easy to clean. The straw is removable and the straw mouthpiece comes off for easy access with a narrow cleaner brush. The straw has a round piece at the bottle which I guess can be used if you want to mix fruit with your water. Although I washed the bottle when it first arrived, the water had a terrible taste from the plastic. I filled the bottle with 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water, mixed it and let the bottle sit open overnight. By morning there was no more odor. The lid pops up and closes easily. I love the smooth feel of the bottle. It is light enough to carry when outside walking. Yes, I would have preferred glass but I hope this one is non toxic as advertised.

I bought this to bring with me to the gym. It's good enough for this, I suppose. The wrist strap makes it easy to carry, the pop top makes it quick to open one handed which is appreciated especially during a spin class. Being transparent enables me to monitor the water level, in case I need a refill before walking into a class. I like the quotes on the outside, with times reminding you to drink. I'm on a weight loss journey, and drinking more water is vital at this time. This cup not only makes it much more easy to do so, it sets another goal, another challenge. Yes, a small one, but its one of those small ones that make a big difference health wise. As for the cons- the water doesn't stay cold long at all. I like a ton of ice in my water, and still doesn't seem to keep cold very long. I fill it at night, and again filled to the top with ice, it's completely melted by morning, whatever water left, not even cool. It leaks. The top of the straw doesn't really fit securely into the lid. Yes, the top of the cup itself is leak proof, the straw pops up when you open it, it closes easily and securely one handed, If the cup happens to tip too much to the side, the water will spill out. If I had known the straw did not secure, I would have purchased a different cup. There is not just a typical opening at the bottom of the straw. There are slots going up each side, and they are quite high, enough so that when I do get to the bottom there is still about an inch or so water left in the cup. I drink alot of water during my workouts, and again, if I am a class, I want every drop so I don't need leave the class for more water. Not only for the water, but out of respect, as it is bit of a distraction to the others, when someone walks through the room. I believe the reason for the slats on the bottom have to do with the strainer towards the bottom of the water, so perhaps it's meant to add fruit for flavorings, and the larger opening allow for extra bits of seeds seeds or small pieces or fruit to come through. As the listing and lack of instructions don't say anything about this, that would be my guess. So, while it's really more of hassle to return a $10 cup, I'll keep it. As I said, it's sufficient for a workout, which is really what I bought it for. Will I be buying another one, for the days I'm at the gym for longer workouts, when a quick one handed open from a cup right next to the handlebars isn't incredibly quick like it is during spin class? Yes, I definitely will.

If you turn the bottle upside down, water will leak around the straw. So it is not really leakproof. Nice size however.
