Rovner Ligature & Plastic Cap for Tenor Standard Saxophone - Dark Ligature for Hard Rubber Mouthpiece (2R)

Great tone for both Concert Band and Jazz Band. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a better tone.

The Rovner Versa-X is my favourite ligature for any mouthpiece. I have played Alto and Tenor sax for over 30 years and as a gear-head - I’ve tried just about every mouthpiece and ligature (and reed) combo out there. The Versa-X is like a custom fit after it breaks in to your mouthpiece, which takes just a couple of playing sessions. It is simple and easy to use and tightens down evenly and quickly when you need to get set up or change a reed. It is built of very durable materials and it looks very cool as well. The pressure plate system is perfect - because it actually delivers on two slightly different tonal concepts in one ligature. If you expose the plate to the reed you get more brilliance and projection and it you close the textile flaps over the plate you get a more compact and warm sound. Some players even change it up and cover half of the plate with one textile flap as it can make some bad reeds more playable. At a price point of around $50 compared to a hundred (or hundreds) for other fancy ligatures, the Versa-X is the first option I look for. Be sure to check the Rovner website for fit information for your particular mouthpiece and you’ll be good to go. Rovner is great to deal with and my products always arrive fast and perfectly packaged. Combine that with their excellent customer service and you’ve got nothing to lose. Rovner Versa-X for the win.

I love my new, budget saxophone but the ligature that came with it was terrible. I debated for quite a while and decided that even if this was terrible it was refundable. I was so pleasantly surprised when this ligature arrived! It works perfectly and looks great as a bonus. Oh and the price was right!

Awesome, versatile ligature!!

This ligature will likely not improve your sound or make you play better, but it will definitely allow you to easily, quickly, and securely attach reeds getting a good seal with only one screw to worry about, if that's what you're looking for this ligature may be for you. I have tested the fit on a Yamaha 5c (plastic) and a D'Addario Select Jazz D6M (hard rubber), both fit well, but I would imagine it wouldn't fit a slim metal mouthpiece well enough to create a good seal. The included cap is basically worthless. It just doesn't stay on very well, sitting near a fan or an open window with a gentle breeze would likely be enough to blow the cap off. It also does not fit into the mouthpiece slot in my case so I have to store my mouthpiece loose in the larger compartment if I want to keep the cap on it. My solution is to store the mouthpiece, ligature, and cap in an old glasses case which helps protect it from damage in-transit. It would be nice to see Rovner reevaluate this cap design to make it a little smaller and a little tighter-fitting.

Bought this as a new ligature for my Ted Klum London Bari sax mouthpiece and I absolutely adore it! I’ve been playing Rovner ligatures for a few years now and I simply cannot go back to a metal two screw model. The versa gives the full, rich sound every saxophone player craves! Great purchase!!

I like the bright sound and solid hold on the reed.

Ottima sopratutto se utilizzate ancia sintetica, che tende a scivolare molto facilmente (Plasticover, Fibracell etc) Sono passato a questa da una legatura Francois Louis, che è esattamente l'opposto: sottilissima, poco ingombrante, anche elegante. E dà l'idea di lasciare vibrare l'ancia più liberamente. Ma nonostante questi "pregiudizi", non sono affatto pentito.

セオワニ Durga Metalにはキツキツ、残念。なのでX-2Mを使用中。高音のキツさを緩和するにはこの手の消音系リガチャーが定番。

Habe ein älteres Berg Larsen Tenormundstück aus Metall erstanden, das eine jämmerliche Nicht-Original-ligatur hatte. Daher noch mal etwa 34 Euro investiert und gut is,,,,
