has anyone used these for scuba diving?

I have not. They don't do well when pressure is put on them. The inside will rupture and then the outside.

can you wet this before microwaving it, would it not damage or hurt the product?

The actually heat pack is separate from it's safety wrap. You ALWAYS put the heat pack in the safety wrap before heating in the microwave. I have never found a need to wet either the heat pack or the safety wrap. If you want wet heat, you could always wet a washcloth with hot or boiling water and place that between the heat pack and your skin. The instructions are easy to follow. Product works well and I have used it many times.
