We are wondering if there is a separate attachment that we can buy for her to use her cellular phone on this gimbal and if you could recommend one?

I’m not aware of an adapter that you would need to mount the phone for this gimble. I searched for “Gimble for iPhone” on amazon and got quite a few responses. Check those out and read the reviews and I think you can easily find what you are looking for.

using a gopro hero 8 black with the waterproof case, will this gimble work with that case on the camera?

No it will not as the waterproof case is too wide to fit on the Gimble .

I need to download the APP to connect?
