I have fine textured hair with a short pixie cut hairstyle and Aveda control paste is my number one pomade. I apply a small amount to the palm of my hand and then use it to style out my dry hair into little pieces. This paste allows me to position my hair exactly like I want. The paste has a small amount of stickiness to it but you want that so that it holds your hair in place. It has a pleasant smell and this pomade last a long time. It's so easy to use and keeps my hair from being frizzy and is held in place all day. At the end of the day it washes out with ease. I highly recommend this product.

I have been using Aveda products for years and love their Control Paste. I used to buy it in store at the mall, but recently Aveda left my local mall. I was hesitatant to buy it online because I had heard of knock-offs being sold. This appears to be the real deal. It smells and works just the same as when I buy it from Aveda. It is a medium hold paste that adds texture and definition to my pixie cut.

I've been using this for over 20 years. It is the best hair product I have ever used and it also works in beards better than any beard product I have ever purchased. It conditions, shines, smells good, looks great, everything you could want, unless you are looking for something to keep it firmly in place. You can spike up hair with it if your hair is short.

love this product. Have been using it since the 1990's. It does not hold like a hairspray but does not leave my hair stiff like a spray either. It allows for great styling and holds the look quite good.

Exactly what I was looking for - holds without being stiff.

I have been using Aveda products since the 90’s when I worked in an Aveda concept salon, so I am quite familiar with how well their products work. This control paste is no different. It smells like fresh cut lemon grass and the texture is thick, so I holds the hair in place. The formula seems to have a changed a little over the years because thick particular jar that I got is more of a creamier texture whereas the old formula was thicker and stiff. I like this texture more. I would highly recommend this control paste if you only want quality, clean ingredients.
