what parts or how much do you have to put together after taking it out the box?

Snap the players, nets, score keeping slides on and start playing. Takes 10 minutes max. It’s a wonderful game - I’m 69 and on my 3rd board lifetime. Very durable if you don’t beat it to death.

Does it have metal gears, or the gears that use rubber bands?

Neither. they are a type of plastic on a metal rod.

Does the puck in this game use a ball bearing?

No. The puck is made of hard plastic but weighted perfectly.
