I bought these gates for my dogs. I have 2 clever puppies. And they will test a gate and find the flaws! These look good and are not bulky at all! They lock with a quarter turn of the knob and unlock by lifting the know and a quarter turn back. Very easy. Comes with a great cut sheet that you can tape to your wall and know EXACTLY where to place your screws. 8 screws (supplied) and your done! I don't know if they are intended for outside but I have one on my deck to keep my buddies safe and in eye range and I have not had any issues at all. It's gone through all 4 seasons (Live in the NorthEast) along the shore so you can't ask for any worse conditions and they still work and look as good as new. I gently hit it with the 'ol pressure washer and it looks good as new after a super nasty pollen season! I have no hesitation when I tell you to BUY BUY BUY!! Just come back and thank me later. My Corgies have tested the gate. They can't sneak under or push through! But my lord did they try. They thought I bought another pushover chocho gate like the last time. My Bucky and Pepper have given up on trying to defeat these gates ! Plus these are just a few screws. So no major permanent damage to deal with when you feel it's time for them to come down. Some gates are so overcomplicated and wreck your home installing or removing them. These gates have stood the test of time.

This is the most amazing baby/dog gate. The fact that it retracts, and is out of the way, is awesome! You can lock it in place, so there is not give, or keep it unlocked for some stretch, if you need to step over it. Would buy again!!

I installed this gate at the top of a stairway to keep a grandchild/toddler from falling down stairs. Provided great peace-of-mind. Very easy to open and close. Locking mechanism is sufficient for pets and very small children, but I think 4 and 5 year olds can quickly learn to unlock it. When retracted, it is very unobtrusive, and a good solution to small areas where a swinging gate won't work. I also liked the fact that with this style gate there is no bar across the bottom of the opening that could trip someone as they started down the stairs. It is easily removed from mounts for long-term storage. Gave it a 4 star rating because of the mounting hardware supplied with it. Screws provided are only 1" long, and will securely install mounts only if they are screwed directly into solid wood surfaces. I've never used the kind of anchors provided for attaching mounts to drywall, and they seemed to be flimsy at best. If securing the mounts to drywall, I would have used toggle bolts for a more secure attachment. Fortunately, there was a stud behind the drywall where the mounts were being installed, and I was able to use longer screws which securely attached the mounts to the stud. I used 2 1/2" screws because I had to also install a 3/4" spacer (which was not provided and I had to make) behind each of these mounts so that the gate would clear the baseboard. Price was very reasonable.

This Cumbor Retractable Dog Gate is a total win! The functionality is excellent - it's super easy to open and close one-handed, and it adjusts up to 55" wide, making it perfect for wide hallways or stair openings. I was impressed by the stability and sturdiness once installed. It doesn't budge, even when my large dog leans against it. The mesh is strong yet flexible, and the 33" height keeps pets where they belong without being an eyesore. We got this gate installed to keep our dog from going upstairs. It is wonderful. It kind of reminds me of a roller shade except stronger. The materials are good quality and look to be sturdy. It easily pulls across the stair entrance and hooks to the wall. We put the hardware on the wall and the hooks on the stair edge and I could not have asked for a better gate and it's way easier than the traditional gates that are a pain to open and close. I wish they made a slightly smaller one as well since some of my walls have trim at the bottom and chair rail. But I am going to buy a few more of them. One for the dogs and one for my husband to keep him from sleep walking downstairs. I can see this would be great for dogs or kids. I would watch babies because it is mesh and I am not sure if the bottom is super tight but it is strong. My dog doesn't even bother trying to go upstairs now. I absolutely feel this is worth every penny because traditional gates are so hard to open and close and this is a breeze!!! When you are not using it, it neatly just retracts and it's very strong as I stated previously. It's so easy for my 9 year old and 19 year old to open and close.

This is a perfectly fine mesh-style baby/dog gate. Installation was a breeze, especially with its included paper guides. It also seems quite sturdy, and there's essentially no gap along the floor. I use it at the top of my stairs, where the specific angles would make a more traditional baby gate challenging to install. It fits there great. There are, however, two drawbacks that make it fairly unpleasant to use: 1) The winding mechanism is louder than I expected, and the retraction feels uneven. In most places this might not be an issue, but it's positioned outside the nursery and noise management is a real concern. 2) There's a little handle along the vertical length of the mesh to make it easier to pull. This can be hard to reach from one side, so I really wish there was a similar handle along the top length. It wouldn't have to be rigid, but a loop of fabric would definitely make it less likely for a person to lose their grip, causing the whole thing to retract quickly and loudly. These aren't big enough issues to merit a return (and could be specific to my use), but I might have done extra research had I been aware.

This gate was originally purchased 8 months ago and after only a few months, the bracket broke off of the wall. We did secure it with a drywall anchor and the plastic cracked and broke. Upon writing the company for a replacement t bracket they got back to me very quickly and will send me not only a replacement bracket but a new gate as well. I really appreciate the fact that they were so attentive to what I was asking for. I really don’t need a gate but they are sending all new brackets and gates and that is so appreciated for the utmost of safety. Thank you so much!
