I bought the book because I just couldn't stop my intense sweet cravings after each meal. Sometimes, they started during the meal and I would eat an entire bag of Oreos or a huge bar of milk chocolate. Without it, my brain wouldn't shut up. This book made me see what the issue was. The book is great science writing - easy to read with lots of examples, analogies, and practical tips. I used some of her tips and found my cravings decreased immensely. I was shocked. Very easy to read and digest. I prefer a bit more complex scientific material but I would say that the author has done a great job at making it accessible to absolutely anyone & therefore accomplishes its goal- itโs simple, full of real life cases, and practical strategies that you can start applying immediately. When you know what is going on in your body, you know how to take care of it. Iโve personally applied the hacks Jesse has shared in the book and her YouTube channel and managed to bring my insulin down from 17 to 4, lost 8kgs, have stable energy throughout the day and donโt crave junk food and sugar anymore. Iโm at my healthiest Iโve ever been. I would recommend you this book regardless of where you are on your health journey or even if you arenโt on a journey at all. I never felt a science based topic book, indeed a topic is a hot potato, is explained with such a clarity. Every single word is simple and is to the point. The book covers everything from very basic information to hacks to control the blood sugar. The breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes are western style, but the central ideas can be learnt.

Great book - a must read
This book is what every human must read. It taught me so much about the processes of the body with regards to glucose, and how these affect your body in the short and long term. Finally, her tips on how to maintain healthy glucose levels, while still eating the food you like are great, and as far as I understand the effect can be rather quick - you feel better, more energized, fewer cravings etc. Really a must-read. I ordered the hard covers, as this was the cheapest option to get the book at the time of ordering and despite the packaging it arrived in being torn, the book was in perfect condition.
