The Power of Positive Thinking
This kit is perfect. Before I mounted my TV, my daughter who is 21 months old loved getting as close to the tv as possible and even touching it to point out what was on it and it just irked me. I didn't like telling her no or punishing her for it, so I knew something had to be done. Thus, my project began. So when I decided to mount my TV, I knew I didn't want to pay an electrician to move my AC outlet, because I knew these extensions existed and didn't break building code (in Layman's terms, it won't void your homeowner's insurance whereas running a power cord from your TV behind your wall to your outlet will). This thing was a breeze to install, directions were very simple and detailed. I was able to run 4 cords behind my wall through the holes of the wall plate. Although the HDMI cables were a little difficult to get through the hold on bottom half, they fit. Once I got my Television mounted and everything was plugged in, I pushed the power button on my TV and it turned on, but there was nothing on the screen. There was still a back light, but no menus were coming up on the screen, no volume indicator, no input selection, just a black screen. Doing a little bit of research it seems the power inverter on my television is out now. I'm not too worried as my TV is under warranty and since I cannot prove whether it was this kit that caused the problem, I will still give it 5 stars as I wait for the parts to come in and the technician to come out in order to repair the television. If I have any problems after the TV is repaired, I'll change my review appropriately. Until then, this seems to be a solid product. ______________________________________________________________________________ Update 03/09/2015 Due to parts being back ordered, I ended up getting my TV replaced. I put it on the wall, plugged it in, and it works like a champ leading me to believe that this product was not the cause of the first TV's issue. This in wall extension does the job and looks sleek.

Professional install/look for a DIY home project. Large cable capacity too.
Excellent. Perfect. Exactly what I was seeking for my LED TV install. I researched a lot of these type of in-wall power outlet/cable guides and this one was perfect for my needs. Everything you'll need for a professional install is included; templates (completely accurate) power wire, mounting wings, screws and easy to read/follow instructions. I ran 4 HDMI and 1 ethernet cable through the cable openings without any issues or cable snag. The fit at the power supply was a little tight but completely workable and reasonable. I have the power (lower) box plugged into a high quality surge protector which is connected to my TV and Fire Stick (both plugged into the outlets on the upper box). My install is completely clean and devoid of any visual cables/wires. If you're seeking a professional look with quality cable management, then this is the box for you. Your in-wall power is up to code with the Romex included and quick-connect power box. Very happy and satisfied with this product thus my glowing recommendations.

Honest review and just a few tips.
So you mounted your TV on the wall and see all those cables all over making it not picture perfect as you imagined. This kit right here is far the best and easiest decision I have ever bought. It took me roughly an hour to install it but it did came out looking nice. A few notes you need to know before buying this product; 1.) You need a stud finder. 2.) Watchout for fireblocks. (These are horizontal studs in between the vertical studs.) 3.) You will cut inside your wall. 4.) Youโll need a Jab Saw. 5.) Tape measure (For insulated walls) So what I did first, I used my stud finder and locate my two studs so I can install this product in the middle. Then I used the stud finder again vertically to make sure there are no fireblocks between the studs. Then I grabbed the cutted layout they give you to trace on the wall and mark it with a pencil. Make sure to trace it correctly because this is probably the most important part of the installation. Then you just grabbed your jab saw and start cutting the trace you did with the layout. After I finished cutting I noticed I have insulated walls and it was so hard to fish down all my cables and this tip right here really did help me. I grabbed a tape measure and fished it from the bottom up, then I taped all of my cables to the tape measure and just pulled the tape measure back and everything came down so much easily. Note: Do not fish down your TV outlet source because itโs not safe and up to code. That is why the top receptacle has an outlet to its own so you can plug your TV up there. (I personally only plugged in my TV up there just to be on the safe side even though there are two available plugs.) Then the rest is honestly simple you just need to put the two white receptacles on the top and bottom and the wire that comes with the top part fish it down as well, and connect the white with the white, black with black, green with copper. And thatโs it you will have a much nicer looking theatre.

It's relatively easy to install, but read before clicking "Add to Cart"...
Received and installed my conduit box yesterday. It's relatively easy to install but before clicking "Add to Cart", take note: - Invest in a stud finder. You NEED space around the holes for the locking brackets to rotate inside the drywall. If you cut the hole next to a stud or fireblock, it won't lock in place. - FIREBLOCKS! These are horizontal pieces between studs. Since you are probably hoisting your TV up on the wall so there is a very good chance you are going to run into one trying to push your cables down the wall. Unless you know where they are, you will be quite miffed when you cut two big holes in your wall and then realize you have to cut another one just to route your cables through the wall. I didn't have this problem (I had photos of my house when it was being built) but I can easily see how some people will get stuck dealing with this problem. In my photo, you can see where I positioned my box which is directly UNDER a fireblock. - The templates are good but I found it difficult to install the bottom box within the lines provided. It took me a while to shave drywall until the box pushed in without force. - As some have mentioned, don't forget to push your electrical wire THROUGH the small, white box before pressing them into the connectors. Ooops. Due to my mistake, I sanded a small hole off the bottom so the main wire could fit without allowing the other wires to pull out. Easy fix. - I ran an extra pull line in the box for additional HDMI cables in the future but I now agree with others that you should just go ahead and buy a second 9-10' HDMI cable and run it at the same time. The position of the holes to run the HDMI cables will make it difficult to 'pull' wires through in the future. I don't expect a need for a second line...but if I do, I'll probably have to pull the boxes out of the wall to run the second. - And the GOOD news: With the boxes in place and the power cables zip-tied, the TV looks great on the wall. No cables visible from the side and it looks professional. Wife is happy with the results (and glad I didn't hurt myself). This is a good product but you need to plan ahead before cutting holes. Check your wall studs and fireblocks. Make sure you have room around the holes (inside) for the locking clips.

Easy to hide ugly wires
We had our TV mounted to the wall for years, and I purchased some cable hiding strips but never got around to getting them on the wall so our TV cabling was a mess. My wife wanted the TV hung on a swivel mount to watch from an adjacent wall and I decided at this point to invest in properly hiding the wires. There are a few options for someone wanting to hide cables inside a wall. I chose this brand based on reviews and overall this was an easy install. Make sure you arenโt too close to a stud or it will be very hard to tighten the box. One of the mounts did not align with the template hole and took a bit of wiggling to get it in. Attaching the wires to the bottom piece was a breeze. The thing that took the longest was actually realizing I had a fire block stud and needing to purchase a 4ft+ flexible drill bit to get through that. Otherwise this is a GREAT way to hide wires and make it look like a professional TV mount/installation was done at the house and NO fear of any electrical code issues. For Fireblocks you may encounter this device โSouthwire 1-in Flex Auger Bitโ is good to purchase to make holes in the cross stud without needing to cut another hole in the wall. Pass through as many in-wall HDMI cables that you can fit now so in the future you have them available. I have 1 extra in the box ready to use if ever needed. I also bought the 2-plug version so I can have the sound bar and TV plugged in at the top hole. I would recommend this purchase to anyone looking to hide cables in a wall.

This kit is great
This kit is easy to install and saves a ton of money versus having to hire an electrician. Its up to code and looks great. This probably took me an hour to an hour and a half, but I was super careful and took my time. I purchased two kits and now that I know what Im doing, I figure I can install the second one in like 30 minutes. I found a great video on YouTube that shows how to install this which was very helpful. I recommend the video because the instructions are kind of lack luster. In fact, the kit requires you to cut out the templates to mark the wall for the plates. For some reason the templates are printed on the other side of one page of instructions, so you end up having to cut your instructions to pieces. But I still love this product and recommend it.

Great product, very happy - I will buy again!
Works like a charm, I'm very pleased - very happy I chose the two outlet model. To the user who said the image shows a separate outlet box, I think if you actually look at the picture it is quite obvious this needs to be attached to the top cable box. I actually lost the instructions for installation, but it's so easy they're not necessary. One issue I had is that my walls are too thick for the top cable box with the outlet attached due to the angle at which it attaches. I was able to shave the interior of the wall at a 45 degree angle though and that allowed it to fit nice and snug. I also had a fireblock right between where I wanted to run cabling, so I had to open that up, run my cables and seal it again. Very easy - watch a video on YouTube if you have any concerns. Two negatives - the romex is nice, solid 14 gauge copper. It attaches to the bottom plate which uses braided copper - I prefer solid wires to braided any day, so was disappointed that they didn't use all solid wiring. The other negative - no wire nuts. What the hell? I bought some decent wire nuts at Home Depot but would have been happier if the kit included everything you needed in the box.

They Work Well
I cut the holes with the oscillating saw and they popped in no problem, we ran the wires before installing the boxes and it was easy to put the wires thru once we were ready for the boxes. They are "old work" boxes so they have wings and do not mount to 2x4s so keep enough room for the wings to rotate. I also taped the electrical connections even though they seem OK I don't want a mis-hap later, but old work boxes can be removed just a bit OCD I guess. I left ALL the electrical wire on in the event I need to pull a box from the wall, I have 1 CAT5e, 2 HDMI, and 1 Optical running thru without them being tight in the opening, this was a good purchase

Hide those ugly cables now, this is an easy DYI project that takes an hour!
Cables were an eye sore that I finally decided to get rid of. I initially made the mistake of purchasing the other kit that doesn't have electrical. Hiding electrically cables is a bad idea as it could cause a fire behind the walls, also your insurer probably would have an issue with it. Then I purchased this kit. Easy to use and the template is spot on. The dry wall cutting could be done with a simple knife, but I used the drywall cutter and it made my life very easy. The electrical bit was great as they colour code everything. Pros: - Sleek and appeal visual design - Install was simple - Electrical setup for dummies Cons: - Minor if any, larger than expected

A Nice Product But You Definitely Need Some Handyman Skills to Install It.
I installed it at my friend's house for them and it went smoothly. I would recommend that you cut small holes in both locations prior to cutting the template holes when you are going to install first to avoid issues in fishing the electrical wire. It my case there was a 2 inch ABS drain pipe behind where the lower plate was going to go so I had to relocate it and do some patching. The ABS pipe is not detectable by a stud finder. If I had cut two small one inch holes first, I would have spotted the pipe. Otherwise, the installation was easy and straight forward. This is an excellent solution for wire concealment.

Expensive but works great
The setup is clean with this product. The knly complain is the white cover for the electrical connection, I wasnt able to keep it and put the box flush to the wall, so I only put electrical tape to keep it safe. But overall it works great and can allow for a tv flush to the wall and no extension cord in the wall or visible cables.

This is a great idea, fairly easy to install
I like the design, well built, allows for multiples cables. The only issue and it is not the product is that the wall I needed to install it on has 2x3 studs instead of the standard 2x4. I will install it using a piece of 1/2 plywood which will make the difference.

Nice kit, easy to install, works well.
Nice little kit, easy to install, electrical is hard wired but really easy to work with and all wires labelled so if you aren't familiar with electrical it's really hard to mess it up. Cut 2 holes in drywall, hook up electrical connection between the two, pass your other wires and then screw the plates on (built with retaining clips that move into place behind the drywall as you tighten). It was really simple and easy to install. Bonus is you can plug the electrical into a surge protector so whatever you plug into the outlet will be protected.
