These hinges are very nice. Easy to install and hopefully will not rust out. They are supposed to be high quality and appear to be. They almost look brassy but are solid and appear very well made. They do not come with hardware si if you can't use the existing hardware be sure to have new on hand. They are very easy to change as long as you can handle the tailgate, which must be fully removed. The hinges are marked left and right for correct placement and fit perfectly. Once installed the gate fits right back in and works very smoothly. The weather resistance is important and hopefully will outlast the vehicle. For the price these hinges are an excellent buy. I ordered 2 sets but sold one set , very quickly, for the price I paid. My buyer would have paid twice what I paid so I'm confident my purchase was to my advantage. 5 stars for overall satisfaction.

Used these to replace the bent the bent hinges on my 2003 Silverado, my tailgate opens so much easier now because the latches are now properly aligned. They are definitely much sturdier than the factory hinges, nice upgrade. Installation was pretty straight forward. The factory hinges have two spacers behind them. When my tailgate didn't fit, I had to take the hinges off the truck and remove one spacer on each side. Some other reviews suggest skipping the spacers altogether. So save yourself sometime and either use only one spacer on each side or skip them entirely.

These were a perfect fit. To begin installation I tilted the tailgate a few degrees until i felt the right side was pull of the right hinge. Then I released both safety cables, and pulled the tailgate to the right and off comes the tail gate. At this point you'll need a socket or wrench to remove some bolts attached to the rusted out hinges and on the tailgate. Be sure to pay attention to what hinge comes off what side so you can recall how the new ones will be installed. The tailgate is not all that heavy, it's just bulky. I was able to do it by myself, but another person just makes it all the more easier. Entire job from start to finish, and taking my time to pay attention to things, it took me 20 minutes. A mechanic could do this job in 5 or 10 minutes. It's only 8 bolts in total. This kit does not come with bolts, you simply reuse the ones you have. and my original bolts were fine to install.

My 2003 Chevy Silverado's tailgate was in sad shape. The driver's side tailgate hinge was almost completely rusted away and I was concerned that the tailgate may fall off while going down the road. There are 4 pieces to this replacement kit and they are all dichromated to slow down the rusting process. You must remove 2 hex bolts from each old hinge to install the new part. It takes a 13mm socket and it's pretty straight forward. I was very happy with the results. The only negative thing I can say is that it is made in China and I would be much happier if it was made in the good ole' USA!
