Nothing lights up except two blue, unhidden led lights on either side of the emperor. The sabers are supposed to illuminate but on mine they do not. The advertising photos make it look like it glows from inside (as does an online, sponsored "review" of the clock), but this is not true. The description states: "It lights up! At the flick of a switch, the clock illuminates from within, and the crossed electroluminescent lightsabers of Vader and Luke glow in brilliant red and green while the Emperor's chamber glows blue." ... this is very misleading. There are no light sources that glow or illuminate "from within". There are two blue LED behind Luke and Vader, and the lightsabers themselves should glow (though on mine, again, they don't) and that is it. There is a button and a knob on the right-hand side of the clock. The button just activates one cycle of the music/lights manually (rather than waiting for the top-of-hour when it automatically goes off). The knob adjusts the music volume, it does not dim or otherwise affect the lights. The music at full volume is like a loud musical greeting card. The lightsabers light up along with two small blue LED lights behind each figure visible on the outside of the clock housing next to the Emperor figure (though on mine the sabers were broken from out of the box and have never lit up). The sabers only light when the clocks goes off on the hour, or when you press the side button. Nothing moves except for the hand action of the clock. The "pendulum", as it looks to be and as they refer to it in the description, is NOT a pendulum at all - it is just a hanging piece of thin circular metal. It does not swing. By definition, it is not a pendulum. The front graphics are just laminated cardboard by the feel of it - mine as two scratches in it new from the box. The center pendulum hangs crookedly. Overall it looks ok from a distance and when it "goes off" it's just a galactic disappointment. Again, the lights for the sabers in mine appear to be broken and while, if working, they would add to the whole thing, from videos I've seen online of the clocks truly "working" they don't add much. This Bradford Exchange piece was purchased by my father directly from Hammacher Schlemmer as a gift to me, and once we'd followed the directions to carefully assemble it, he and I were both immediately nonplussed. It simply seems poorly thought out and cheaply made/assembled. There was no visible damage in shipping whatsoever -- the sabers on this example simply don't work, but even if they did we'd likely still return it. It is grossly overpriced for the quality of this "collectible" piece I'm afraid. Save your money. May the Force be with you.

Start Wars Clock for the WIN!
This was a gift for my husband. He hung It in our reading room and note it’sa gift for both of us. Hourly 😂 Truly, the clock is well made, the details are excellent and the sound is adjustable.

Cheaply made but looks nice
The product itself is nice. My husband loves it. For the money, however, Im not exactly sure i would say its worth it. It is a heavy item, however you can see how it is cheaply put together. Its not that it looks bad, but youll see the cheapness when you hold it. As long as my husband is happy i wont complain.

Poor quality.
Cheaply made, this battery holder could easily been installed hidden on the inside instead of being poorly installed on the exterior, ruining the looks from the side. This is not illuminated from the inside. The " pendlum" is only for decoration, not a working piece. The graphics are poorly printed cardboard, the clock hands are exposed, not under glass which could prevent damage. Returning it. Sorely disappointed.
