10-Gun Rifle Rods Kit

What a great solution to a cluttered gun safe. When you buy a gun safe rated for 14 rifles, it may actually fit 14 rifles if they are all of the same slim design, with no scopes, slings or accessories, but even then, it gets very tight. Otherwise, you are lucky if you can fit 6 or 7. I was never that lucky. I have scopes and slings on most of my hunting rifles. I can fit in 5. This solution can increase 14 gun safe capacity to about 16 give or take one assuming you stack them neatly. Velcro sheet supplied is adequately sized. I stapled it to the top shelf as instructed. One end of the plastic rods is inserted in the barrel and the other end topped with a quarter sized velcro-ed disc sticks to the bottom of the shelf. Rod may bow a bit depending on the weight of your rifle, but it holds in place. As a result you can ditch the notched border shelf and line up your deer/squirrel harvesting devices in neat tight rows like nice little solders with your scopes, slings and unicorn tassels attached without them banging into each other. Call me a neat freak, but that kind or organization pleases me. Velcro tips easily detach when you remove the firearm and easily reattaches. Nice! I will agree with some reviewers that this product is a bit overpriced, considering inexpensive materials and all. After all it is a bunch of plastic rods and a sheet of velcro. You look for any other toy made with the same materials at your local Wally-World and I bet you it will cost no more than $10. This is a unique, albeit simple invention, however. It is also a perfect solution and there is no one else selling anything like it, as far as I looked. It was described very accurately and it performed exactly as described. But most important, after the pain of spending $39.99 subsided this product made me happy. I feel good every time I look into my gun safe and for that It deserves 5 stars, don't you agree?

Works great! Good quality for the money

I'll start by saying, yes these met my expectations. For $70 you're not getting much - but I knew that. If this system was more popular and being mass produced by many, the cost would probably be more like $25. Really, it's a 19" x 30" sheet of Velcro and 20 plastic sticks with Velcro on top. Do they work? Yes, sorta and not so great. If all your rifles are nearly the same height they work well. If you're mixing 16" - 18" barrels in with 22" - 26" barrels, shotguns, this system leaves a little to be desired. Ideally you would have your Velcro covered shelf about 2" - 3" from the top of the barrel. This allows you to balance / center the rifle on the butt so all the rod has to do is barely hold it center to maintain balance. When you try to put an 18" barrel rifle in the mix, now that barrel is 8"+ away from the shelf and the plastic rod isn't strong enough to resist bowing, so the rifle leans. The top of the Velcro rod is the size of a quarter. I think if it was the size of a half dollar it would help with the lean some. It would probably make it harder to pull loose though. I'd like to see them offered in larger diameter rods for bigger bores. I realize this is all cost prohibitive to the manufacturing process, so you get an average size that will work for everyone. I chose to use contact cement / spray adhesive in lieu of stapling to wood. I have metal shelves so it was easy enough to do it this way and I think it makes the system work even better. The Velcro sheet seems like it would want to stretch between staples and allow the rifles to lean even more. I wanted something installed quick to hold 10 - 20 rifles. Rifle Rods fit the bill. Would I buy them again / recommend them? Yes. I hope they refine them and offer larger diameter rod tops and possibly larger diameter rods while reducing the cost - sent the next prototypes to me Rifle Rods and I'll be your product tester. If you're a purist / OCD and you want all your rifles to be perfectly straight, maybe this is not for you. If you want something that is quick to assemble and offers some flexibility on arrangement of your safe - these will work.

If you read and follow the instructions, this is a nice product that fulfills its mission admirably. In my own case, because the upper shelf of my safe was metal, I cut a fitted piece of 3/4" plywood and screwed it to the bottom of the metal shelf after using 3/8" staples to attach the special velcro to the plywood. It worked like a charm for organizing the items in the safe, even those with large optics. Really clever product that increases storage space, will fit pretty much any safe, and gives you versatility in your arrangement.

These seem to be quality plastic sticks that fit 22-cal rifles without any issues. One thing I would like to see is some for .177 pellet rifles. I took one, filled it, and sanded it down to fit my pellet rifle; it worked fine. The stick was not too thin and didn't break, so I know it could be done. The rods stick to the velcro sheet just fine and are not so strong that it's hard to remove the firearm when needed. The only other thing I can say is I would have liked a bigger sheet of Velcro. Overall, very pleased and would recommend it

I was very skeptical when these arrived. I thought I’d give them a try before I returned them. I sure am glad I did. I love these. They really work perfect! I like them so much I ordered more. Keep everything nice and neat. You won’t regret them. 10/10 would recommend!

The mat is small. My safe is separated into two rows for long firearms. I cut the mat into two pieces in order to accommodate the use of both sections. It does give me more room so now I can go get another. Holds them relatively secure.

Never arrived, but would of worked great to fit more Guns in the locker

This product allows you to put rifles anywhere in the safe giving you more storage. I had a crossbow with scope in back and 5 rifles with scopes in front and still have room for more.

Seems to work well as long as you have a good staple gun and scissors and limited significant partner supervisory help….

I couldn't fit as many guns in my safe as they advertised, but it definitely keeps your guns from laying against each other, and a much better way to present as well.

my only request would be to have the rod longer and have the buyer cut them down to size. As if you have a short barrel and with the rod to the max you will get some bend on the rod but not a big amount.
