Fun and replayable
Fun game with a bunch of unique story outcomes. You could end up playing collaboratively or against each other and you won't know until part way through. The many stories keeps it interesting and gives it a high replayablity score.

My friends felt betrayed after we played this game
This game is a lot of fun with 4-6 players. The first time we played it took about 3 hours to get through and had a pretty big learning curve, but subsequent playthroughs have been around 1-2 hours. The game has several different scenarios that create different outcomes each time you play it. You build the board as you play from random tiles, so the house is never the same layout. A great game for boardgame lovers!

A little complex, but so much fun!
I love Betrayal! It was a little tough to pick up and teach ourselves and new players, but everyone always has a great time playing. Once you get the picture, however, it's really not a touch game to play; there's just a bit of a learning curve on your first game. Since the map and haunts are randomly generated based on player actions, each game feels unique and I'm never bored playing it. This is a great game for those hosting a game night. It features strategy, teamwork, and classic horror tropes that me and my friends love to lean into when we play.

So much fun!!
Seriously the best game our family has played in a LONG time! So much fun! There are a lot of rules and it can take time to get it all figured out, but it’s soooo fun getting to know all the rules while you play!

Improvements over the second condition and so beautiful
Great game, but it was not packed well by the sender. the underside of the box cover has a 3 inch tear and dent. Won’t be able to resell it for much if I ever tired of the game. That is my reason for reducing the rating. I invited people over to play and so it was too late to return it when we realized it during the unwrapping. However, the game itself is great. It has beautiful, colorful artwork. The tiles are thick and well-made. An updated dice rule avoids an early haunt. There is an update to which Hart we will play which is an improvement over the earlier edition. You choose a card before the game that outlines which haunt it will be so it’s easy to avoid repeat haunts. If you love co-ops or want to try one, this is a great place to start. One person will end up being the traitor. The group’s ands the traitor’s objectives will be secret from each other. While there are less haunts in this addition, there are many expansions available for purchase if I needed those. Even with the base game, we had such an enjoyable time playing. The figures are taller, have a pleasant, soft rubbery feel instead of a hard plastic. The color markers of bases indicate your player color. The figures arrived unpainted, and of gray rubbery plastic. (I am going to paint the gray figures.) . The various tokens are sized larger, with easy to read print and explanations on some of them. The secret stairs is now a tile instead of a token as compared to the second edition. Visually, this works very well. The cheap plastic insert in the game divides and holds the pieces. As long as you store it horizontally, they will stay put. I am planning to buy an additional containable Etsy storage system for the chips and cards. it works with the plastic insert. If you love the second edition, I encourage you to try this one! If you’ve never played a co-op or Betrayal, start with this edition.

Great game gets an update, but I’m not sure yet if it’s all improvements *Updated*
I have been a fan of Betrayal at House on the Hill 2nd Edition for years, but since my son took that one to college I was excited to pick up the new 3rd Edition. The new version has been updated and streamlined quite a lot, and I think all the changes are individually great. Taken collectively, I’m wondering if maybe the game is now a bit too streamlined. I need a few more plays to be sure, but I suspect it strongly. The Good: The new artwork is much more vibrantly colored, without being cartoony. The Haunt Roll can no longer trigger on the first or second Omen card There are significantly fewer tiny little tokens to keep track of. The overall gameplay is the same as the previous version, and there are still 50 different possible Haunts. The players can now choose a background reason for why they are exploring the House, which affects the style of Haunts they will trigger, rather than it being completely random. The Less Good: Fewer Omen cards may mean less thematic variety in the Haunts Unpainted grey figurines are less immersive than the fully painted figures from the previous version. Certain rooms have had their special effects simplified, nerfed, or removed Players may no longer steal items from other players, so less interaction Player haunt information is now open - no keeping secrets from your opponents So, in a nutshell, it’s still a great game but I have concerns that it may have been over-simplified. I’ll have to play a few more games to check. UPDATE: I have now played several more games, and I regret to say that my initial impressions were right. Don’t misunderstand me, it’s still a great game and highly recommended, and I will still play it and enjoy it, but for people who played and loved the 2nd Edition, this one will feel kind of nerfed in comparison. If you never played the 2nd Edition, or played it and found it too fiddly or overcomplicated, then this version may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Instant Hit!
Betrayal at House on the Hill (4th Edition) has quickly become a staple at our game nights. Whether we’re playing with close friends or new guests, it always gets people engaged, laughing, and scheming in the best way possible. The mechanics are easy enough to learn in one session, but the replay value is where it really shines. The random room tiles and variety of “haunts” make every game feel fresh and unpredictable. Pro tip: play some haunted house ambient music in the background on a Bluetooth speaker. It instantly sets the mood and takes the atmosphere to another level. We also like to dim the lights a bit. Perfect for spooky season but honestly fun year-round.

It’s kinda fun and seems to be based a little on the Dungeons and Dragons players handbook. Each selects a character and needs to build a route out to finish the game. So of there are not enough of you and some are skipping turns (which happens too often) you run out of options and nobody can finish

Excelente juego. Las piezas vienen mejor y más simplificado que la segunda versión.

Jogo divertido para passar o serão entre amigos. Ao início poderá parecer pesado em termos de regras, mas facilmente apanhamos o jeito dos mecanismos de jogo

Love the product. Quality of the cards are fantastic and the figurines are exquisitely made, very detailed! Fun and exciting to play. Best part, you can buy upgrade packs to new scenarios and mysteries. Wonderful game for the entire family and friends to enjoy if you ever get stuck at indoors! Love it!!
