AND IT'S USED LIKE NEW!
I'm impressed! I've had better sounding systems in the past but for the price 129.00 this thing rocks! The bass could be a bit crisper but over all I like it. The one thing I wish it had was an off switch it only has a low power setting on the remote. Two things to look for is a button called DEMO that turns off the crazy scrolling thru all the menus and controls and such. The other button ECO turns off the display and puts it in low power mode. Only way to really power off is to unplug it. I'm an electricity/money saving nut all my stuff (tv, computers etc) can be turned off at the wall socket. The unit looks nice all the cd trays work. One thing that is strange to me at least is the cd trays work 1 to 5 from the bottom up. I've only used rotary cd players in the past maybe this is the norm now and just new to me. Scared me at first hit #1 tray button and the bottom tray opened! I was like OH NO what's wrong with this thing? Learning curve. Came very well packaged and protected. Oh and it's heavy discription says 15lb I think it may be more or I'm just getting old. The sound is great. Treble/bass adjusts +/- thru a good range. Have not used all features yet only have it a few days. Again well worth it for price.

Good Sound Quality
So far this has been a great music/CD/stereo/playing system/center (I don't even know what these are called anymore). Just needed something for my home gym, because my boombox/portable/CD/playing (not sure what these are called either) finally quit on me after only 30 years or so. I've kept the boombox (see photo bottom shelf) as the cassette player still works (and I've got around 4 cassettes that have not yet tangled up the tape). If you don't know what a cassette tape is, you probably won't be buying a 5 disc CD player anyway (google it and look up VHS tapes and floppy discs while you are at it). Anyway, getting back on track (no pun intended), on the Sharp XL-BH250 all of the 5 disc readers work. The sound quality is really good for a mini system like this. I wanted the speakers on the wall, so installed them using a pair of VideoSecu Side Clamping Bookshelf Speaker Mounting Brackets. The wire from the speakers is 22 AWG (gauge) and only around 4 ft long. So I got some 22 AWG wire and crimped it onto the existing wire. The sound quality is still good, although I think I pushed the limit of how long you can use such a thin wire. If you add more than around 10 ft of wire, the sound will probably go dodgy. Now I can play all my favorite CDs while trying to stay fit. The system also works with a cable from your smartphone as well (AUX input, or something like it). I didn't set up the bluetooth (because I couldn't be bothered). My only complaint is the remote. They should have taken some of the lesser used buttons off and made the volume and CD selector buttons bigger. Then when I'm on the treadmill, trying to change discs mid run, I'll be less likely to stumble and face plant. Won't do that again.

VERY GOOD SOUND, EASY TO SET UP
This is a very good, five CD player and radio for the money. It replaces my 9 year old $1,000.00 Bose which plays only one CD, and that stopped working. To bad the Sharp is clobbered up with so many options that I will never use. They make it hard to get it to simply play music. That is why it gets four, not five stars. The instructions come on a huge sheet of paper, 20 frames with page numbers. I cut it up into a booklet format and stapled it together. There is no index or trouble shooting page. The control markings are so faint you will need a flash light to read them. I printed them out and taped them over the factory markings The remote requires two AAA batteries not included. Very unusual. At first, the CD player sometimes got stick on one song and keep repeating it,. That seems to have corrected itself with use. Could have been the CD. This system seems to stay on all the time. It has a "STAND BY" mode but I can't find an OFF switch! For me, this Sharp would be better without a clock, sleep mode, USB, Bluetooth, MP3 or other nobs. They only defeat the basics use for this product which is providing simple to use back ground music.

Sharp Shooter Tips
The sharp micro stereo ships in a factory white retail box, so if this is a present or you dont want the factory box tore up during transport, then request the retail box be put inside a big brown amazon box. If you temper your expectations, then this unit sounds good at 50 watts RMS. 25 watts left + 25 watts right channel. The included FM antenna can go into the trash, because it's just a thin piece of wire that plugs into the back of the stereo. Buy the Bingfu FM dipole antenna for $8 if you want any real chance of pulling in radio stations. Note that there are 2 versions of this stereo. The all black model and the Gold Limited edition with the gold volume knob and gold trim around the woofers. The specs are the same for both units, so get the one that suits your style. Some reviews said they received the standard black model when they ordered the Gold Label model. The seller (Electronic Express) sent me the correct Gold Label model & it's new in box and not a refurb model. The instructions are written in clear English and set up was easy pie. Don't forget to press the eco button on the remote, so that the display goes complete dark when you press the red on/standby button. Otherwise, the screen will stay lit with disco screen flashing light messages that will freak you out and keep you awake at night if you like to sleep in complete darkness. Also, pressing the play mode buttton on the remote, until you see the words "random" display on screen will randomly play songs on the current disc. This unit does not randomly play songs on all 5 discs like the old school rotary disc stereos. Which is understandable, since all that movement will eventually wear out the mechanism. Work around: Just burn your favorite songs on a usb stick and insert into the stereo if you want random music playing. This is a nice retro nostalgia piece that brings back memories of playing CDs in the 80s. This unit is an upgraded 2022 model with CD, NFC, USB, and Bluetooth compared to other versions that have a cassette player. The remote has decent distance and controls the whole unit, so dont lose or break it. It's been 5 days and so far everything works great including the 5 disk CD player. The stack cd mechanism outputs more noise compared to the 5 disc rotary models, but nothing too crazy. I'll update the review if anything breaks. Click helpful if this info helped you out love 💜

Powerful & clear for it's size & exceeded my expectation
I am pleasantly surprised about everything with this little system. It was very easy to assemble - didn't even need the directions. Please note that after reading reviews on it, I purchased the Bing Fu FM radio antenna, I never tried the one supplied with the system. My favorite radio station is K-Love & it comes through great! The CD exchange is much smoother than my last stereo & the sound is excellent! The x-base is on at level 5 which is max (love my bass) & the clarity is fantastic ... those smaller speakers pack a punch & I have not had them all the way up, don't need to. For reference, I have a large living room in a ranch house & I hear music in every room. If I had to be critical about something it would be the length of the speaker wire. My system is separated within a shelved cabinet, when I first hooked it up , the wire barely made it ... it did relax enough by the next day however.

I tried too hard and one day too long trying to make it work : (
I purchased this unit because the two units I bought in the past lasted over five years. I was very satisfied with the products never had to call Sharp customer support. But when this third unit arrived, I couldn't make it come on so I called customer support at Sharp the day I got it and they could not get it to start either. They told me to leave it unplugged for a half an hour. Then I called Sharp again before I plugged it in for them to guide me through the process and it seemed to work, the display screen lit up, but it did not repeat 05 discs ever. After playing five CDs, it shuts down or it repeats the same CD over and over and one day played the same song all day long. I called customer service over 10 times and I finally decided to give up and return the unit to Amazon. They were very sorry I am having trouble but my return date had just expired the day before. Sharp offered to fix the unit if I mail it to them, they fix it and mail it back to me. That was not an option I could accept because I paid for a functioning unit. It has a one-year warranty, but they told me that only covers repairs not replacement. After long arduous, complicated phone calls and emails for two months. I'm still stuck with this unit that doesn't work and Amazon says it's against their policy even though it was a 1 day of laps in their return unit offer. The unit also offers radio but that never worked either. The older units had tape players, and the tape playing feature on my old ones still works that display comes on, the remote works on the old ones but not on this new one. Very disappointed with the Amazon and Sharp customer support. all they can say is I'm sorry for you. Would not recommend this unit to anyone. And I'm also learning you can't trust you're not getting a refurbished lemon instead of a new product.

Really Nice Unit
I usually stream music, but they want extra $$ to listen to one artist. Nope. not right. Fortunately I'm old enough to have amassed quite the collection of CDs. The 5 CD player works effortlessly (though a bit noisily as it shifts from one-disc-to-another). The sound out of these speakers is phenomenal. Occasionally I will crank it up and it really can get loud with no distortion. The speakers are weighty and serious, though the plain stripped-wire connectors seem a bit cheap. 200 bucks and no connectors? This is really minor and only mention so you know. Otherwise, what the heck can you complain about? If you're here it's because you want a multi CD player that cranks...and this is it. Bluetooth an added bonus that easily connects...like if you turn it off and then turn it back on, it will immediately hook back up because it remembers and continues whatever it was doing before you switched it off. AM/FM, around here it's all commercials & nonsense so not checking it but others have said for ideal FM reception you may want to buy some little antennae instead of relying on the thin wire that comes with the unit. Okay, you love it, you buy it...you're setting it up: The picture you see above shows the three pieces fairly close together. If you measured (or even eyeballed) the space you have to put this little darlin', you may be in for a surprise. Firstly, the central piece is significantly deep. It may jut out on your shelf a bit ...especially if you take the instructions about leaving 4" of space for heat dissipation to heart. Same goes for the sides of the unit; there are substantial air vents on the sides and they are blowing heat so speakers should each be at least 4" away from it. Best of luck with your experience and Rock on! PS - someone asked if your bluetooth earbuds could link up- think you would need a bluetooth adapter that you plug into the earphone jack...Amazon has many under 30 bucks

Looks & Plays Great. Until...
I LOVED this system when I initially received it. Loved the look, loved the 5-changer CD feature, loved the beautiful clarity of the music. It has a 'mega-bass' feature you can push if you want, and it provides an excellent 'bassier' sound that adds some power to the music. But two features turned out to be ultimately disappointing: the separate bass/treble controls, which were perfect to level out the sound I wanted on each particular disc; however, the two controls just stopped working out of nowhere! I could no longer personally get just the right bass or treble sound, they just stayed in the middle and wouldn't work again, which was disappointing because these made me, the listener, have more control over what exact sound I wanted. And speaking of sound, it could have benefited from 5 or 10 more decibels to give it some real power. Now, my biggest disappointed, and for me a very important one. For example, I wanted the ability to randomize the songs, i.e., Have it play one song from one disc to another song from another disc randomly, which is a very important feature to me. But it only plays random tracks from ONE disc at a time! What good is that feature if it doesn't randomly play ALL the tracks on ALL the discs at a time? The fact that it will only randomize tracks on one CD and not all of them is very limiting and frustrating, and totally unnecessary. I give the system 3 of 5 stars because of the above complaints, but if you can overlook these limitations then you'll have an excellent player that is a great bargain for the cost (178$ when I bought one) and a quality system compared to other, usually more expensive CD players. For everything else this player does I would give it 5 stars.

Hard To Find 5 Disc Sound Systems This Good!
Our old stereo system finally died so I researched for a replacement. I had no idea that 5 disc changers were so hard to find these days. I love loading up 5 discs, hitting shuffle and letting it do it's thing. This system is the best value on Amazon. It does everything it says it will. FM Radio works great. I can yell at CBC again. It's loud enough. We are in a two level townhouse and I can hear the music downstairs, it can fill the room. Bluetooth worked easy so I can stream Spotify. Perfect system for our needs.

Back to Music Land
I love this CD player -- the sound quality is very good and I love being able to load 5 CDs at once. Ease of use -- they need to do some work on the remote control to make it easier to use. Also, the manual is a joke -- it needs a serious overhaul. I finally resorted to the online manual and now I just do a search for what I want to know. So much easier. I recommend this unit -- I have been playing CDs non-stop for 2 days and am looking forward to many more hours of listening enjoyment. Thank you to the people who submitted reviews -- it help this non-technical lady to choose which unit to purchase.
