Just buy this one and skip the cheap ones.
Spend the extra money and get a DD Tarp. I bought a couple of the $30ish dollar tarps thinking there wouldn’t be a difference. I was wrong. The seam tape and reinforcements, materials, and just overall quality is unmatched compared to the less expensive tarps in this category. Spend the extra money and don’t even think about it anymore. After you have your replace a cheap tarp twice you’ll be at the same price as this anyway, so just buy once. Also, this thing blends into my local Midwest woods like it’s an invisibility cloak. I don’t need camo, but I wanted to set up a tarp and hammock to day camp in my local park and not look like the circus had moved in. This thing does the trick!

I have a bunch of tarps…
So, I looked at DD Tarp 7-8 years ago and decided to buy a cheap tarp instead. After 6-8 tarps of mediocre quality, I got a couple really high quality tarps. I got Etowa, Dutchware, Aquaquest tarps and learned what a real tarp was capable of doing. Those real tarps, not cheap junk, and they are fantastic! This DD tarp is MAYBE a touch above those tarps. Super quality, seam sealed, lots of tie-outs make this tarp super versatile. I can pitch in a bunch of ways and not worry about being sheltered. 5 Stars. If you’re on the fence, remember this: buy good once, buy cheap a lot.

Essential for camping
Kept me dry, light weight and easily packable.

Probably the best shelter for light weight camping!
This tarp is very surprising for how light weight it is. Most tarps are designed to function. This is the ideal stealth campers tarp. Lightweight, compact packing, and rain proof. I wouldn't call it waterproof though. You'll still get moisture buildup from frosty breath underneath any tarp. I just spent 3 very rainy days in South Carolina with nothing but this tarp over me. Not only did I stay dry, but what little wind we had I barely felt it. It was almost toasty warm. Granted I had it up in a classic tied to a tree and staked out at 3 points setup, but it was fairly easy to set up. Functionally, I believe this will be the way I camp from now on. I own two other tents and they are well made. However, I find that this type of camping is the way to go if you like less confining camping and a multitude of setups. I'll be trying other setups soon. At first I thought the camouflage was a bit bold shall we say. However, it served its purpose for the stealth camping I do. Now for the reason I'm only giving this a 4 star rating instead of 5. First of all, DD does NOT ship a ridge line for this tarp. It only ships with 4 short (less than 6 foot long) guy lines. If you want the ridge line you'll have to purchase more para-cord or a quarter inch nylon rope. My suggestion here is purchase some military specification para-cord. It's lighter. I bought 100 foot of Milspec para-cord that holds up to 750 lbs and cut one 50 foot ridge line and 4 12.25 foot guy lines from it. That should suit most conditions. I highly suggest different stakes as the provided stakes are much like cheap tent stakes. I'll purchase different stakes in time. Most likely MSR Groundhog stakes even though they are relatively expensive. Another purchase with this tarp may be suggested if your are in a campsite where mosquitoes and other bugs may become an issue. Get a good mosquito net to cover your face at least. Now as to videos on Youtube, many show you how to set this up with specific knots in your lines. I've thought about this and have another idea which I'll post a video on later if possible. Rock climbers and mountain climbers might understand it better once it's up. Also, if you watch any Youtube videos on the setup of this tarp, you'll note that most of the areas these videos were filmed are on level ground. The advantage of this tarp is it can be set up in areas that are NOT level. But this tarp functions great and looks even better.

Very Well Made
This tarp is very well made. All seemed were taped and no loose threads. It has LOTS of loops and edge loops are well reinforced. The guidelines are ok, but you will need to replace the stakes for something better. This tarp is not the lightest, but I would trade the weight for the quality.

Good sturdy tarp
I am happy with this product. It is well constructed and durable. I like the loop fastening system over grommets and that there are located in the body of the tarp, not just on the edges. Roomy size. Certainly not an ultralight tarp, but it isn’t terribly heavy either. It all depends on how you are camping.

I'm impressed
I use this for bushcraft and it works really well, you can make alot of different set-ups with the available loops. It will however pick up alot of "smoke" smell from being aroung the fire, I packed it away after a trip and the next time I opened it the smoke smell was very heavy (but I like that so no biggie for me), maybe it would be a good idea to let it air out for a while after a trip.

- Een van de beste tarpen überhaupt. - Kwalitatieve afwerking. - Voldoende verstevigde lussen.

Molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

The camo print is labelled multicam by the manufacturer, but when you get it, it is clearly a combination of multicam with woodland camo: the shade of the camo is woodland; the design print is multicam. They took the design print of multicam and changed the colours to woodland camo, thereby, creating a fusion of the two that isn't either one. For simplicity sake, I will just call it the multicam tarp. It is a strong, durable material. Holds up great under heavy rain and wind. It is also windproof, and as an unexpected bonus, the material insulates arbitrarily well compared to other tarps on the market. If you fold the tarp up into a tent using a trekking pole as a mast and some paracord to hold it steady with your pegs, you can light a small campfire, and trap the heat with this thing. Perfect for Bivvy camping in the winter. I used it so far only in the summer, but wasn't overheated by insulation. Overall, great tarp.
