Compared to the filter that came with my tank, this product is magnificent. The filter that came with my tank was an air pump filter, it was loud and made some really strange and scary noises sometimes, it was clearly very cheap. I used it for maybe a year before it just stopped working entirely. It was overall a poor design for a filter. I tried other filters but they all ended up being too big for my 3 gallon tank. This filter however is so quiet, it’s bigger than my last filter but conveniently still fit in the same spot my old filter was and doesn’t disturb the top piece meant to cover the top of the tank. I simply inserted the hook pieces versus the extra suction cups and swapped out my filter with no hassle or mess. The hooks do make the filter sit up higher but again it conveniently fit so perfect that the water is spilled right back into the tank and not on the top cover, sides, or back. Depending on your tank construction, it will depend whether or not you use the hooks or suction cups, which in my opinion I found convenient that they provided both pieces for that option of flexibility. This filter does produce a bit of a stronger current than my last filter so my betta struggles if he is right under the current, but I think he will adapt and be just fine. Overall great buy, and it wasn’t as expensive as other filters I was looking at.

i have a betta fish, and i always had at least 1 as a kid. i have a 5 gallon, and ive used these filters for basically the whole time ive ever owned a betta. they always work well.. until a few months ago, it completely stopped working (it was about 2-3yrs old). i just had to clear it out (deep clean it) and it worked again. i later replaced it, when i knew it was too old and my tank would be in better shape with a new one. at the time, i had 2 bettas (female). one died, unrelated, so i just have one, currently. i use this filter, and a few weeks ago it completely stopped working. i completely deep cleaned the filter, and a lot of stuff came out, like last time. it makes the sound it makes when its on (a quiet buzzing sound) but it still didnt work. im going to go get a new one today. overall, its great considering its like 3 years old and they only need to be replaced every 1 - 2 years. my betta fish is currently going on more than 2 years, which is great, and i will still be using this product.

Newest and Last update as of September 7th, 2021: I bought this item June 16th, 2021. It stopped working a week ago. I took good care of it, hoping to beat the odds with all the other bad reviews saying it stopped working a month or two in. But they were right. Listen to those reviews. Money is tight for most people right now. Do not waste $$ on this. -_-' (Old) Update: I've had this filter for almost a month. I decided to keep using it (whenever I was out of the room and not trying to sleep) as a backup filter. It has kept my water quite clear. Very recently I noticed it seems to have become quieter to the point where I could stand being in the same room while it is running. I dont know if anything is wrong with it, or if it somehow needed a bit of time to be broken in, so to speak. But I am grateful for the lesser noise, so I'm raising my 2 stars to 3. I might be back one day to update on its longevity. (Older) Previous review: I read quite a few reviews saying the 3 gallon filter was so quiet that they can barely hear it running. That is not the case for me. It is far too loud for me to ignore and I'm positive I wont get used to it. The sound also reverberates around the room. I believe there are better products out there for the same price or less. I bought a Tetra internal power filter last year that's at least half as loud as this one, if not less than half. I have had the filter for just a day, but I need it to be quiet. It filters well enough for my 3 gallon tank that contains 15 ramshorns, although it took about a day for it to clear the slightly cloudy water I had. A positive is that I have the filter a bit higher up above the water level to create more surface agitation, and the trickle of water is still barely ever heard at a small distance. I went to set up my filter as per instructions and it seemed to be missing parts. So I called the company to get replacement parts. Apparently the Quiet Flow 3, doesnt require some of these parts it shows in the set up as it explains further into the instructions. You will only need the one filter it comes with due to the small size. I havent put it in to use it yet, but I will ammend this if I have any other issues. I have used Aqueon in the past with good luck in other aquariums. I dont expect any other issues. The company is fantastic for customer service.

Disappointed this pooped out after about 3 months as other reviews have mentioned. It worked fine new. It's small, quiet, and setup is simple. Not super high powered but not expected to be for a 10 gallon. Only comes with 1 filter cartridge which you should replace every month or so. I also did keep the whole thing clean so there was no extra debris in it. I did notice that the filter would randomly stop working once in a while (maybe every 3 weeks). I'd unplug and it would start back up again. But about 3 months in it just stopped working altogether. Sucks. Not a bad price for what you get and I'm on the hunt for something better, but now I'm stuck with these mini filter cartridges which might not fit the next model.

Great little filter for 3 gallon aquarium!! Has great flow without being too vigorous for a small aquarium. This is the third filter of this model I’ve had and it’s silent and performs well. Typically lasts about a year. Not bad for the price! I add some additional nitrate and ammonia reducing pads but I am careful to not hinder the water flow. I noticed it’s a frequently returned item but wonder if it’s being used in too large of a tank?

Je l'ai acheté pour mon Marina 360. Je voulais remplacer le filtre qui vient avec l'aquarium qui prend beaucoup de place et qui accumule de la saleté en bas de la colonne. Je suis satisfaite du produit car il prend vraiment moins de place et donc est beaucoup moins visible et me permet de mettre plus de plantes. Il est un peu plus bruyant que le filtreur original mais fini par être relativement silencieux à la longue. Il est également assez doux pour un betta. L'espace dedans est assez grand pour retirer les cartouches d'origine est mettre des nouilles de céramiques et une mousse. Il est également relativement facile à nettoyer. Sur les photos vous pourrez mieux apprécier, je crois, la taille du filtreur (Pointé par des flèches rouge) par rapport à l'aquarium (Marina360, 10 litres). Vous avez aussi une photo de l'ancien filtreur pour comparer.

Stopped working in 1 hour

Me funciono mucho..para el estanque de mi tortuga..lo recomiendo mucho..antes cambiaba el agua cada tercer dia. con el filtro lo cambio cada semana o hasta 10 dias me dura.

Mi pecera es pequeña de 2 galones y solo tengo dos peces pero antes del filtro cada 15 días tenia que cambiar el agua, llevo 2 meses y el agua muy limpia, a mi me funciono bien

I'm using the 3 gallon model for my 5.5 gallon tank. This product cleared my cloudy water within an hour! Super gentle flow which is great for a betta. Super quiet too, I can't even hear it! Love that it has suction cups, since my rim was too thick for the hanging tabs. Doesn't bother my curious betta at all, he seems to like it and is playing with it by swimming back and forth under the bottom (pics attached). I read a review that a fish got stuck behind it, so if your fish is smaller, maybe put a bit of sponge in the gap to be safe. I would highly recommend this product. Also, for anyone wondering... yes, it's a wine glass, and for some reason, his favourite thing ;)
