Yes, I always use a marker on my handmade leather goods to fix scratches or bad spots. Leather is porous; it soaks in quickly/permanently. Colors must match. Try it on in an inconspicuous place.

How can they insure that the touch-up crayons won't melt in transit on a hot summer day???

My white one did not work at all

will it stain clothing if you use it on a desk drawer that you rub against?

Once it has been rubbed in and it's left to dry it will not get on your clothes. However with that said the experience I've had is it dries immediately. I've never had a problem with getting it out of my clothes at this present time.
