Barge All Purpose Cement Quart (O22721)

I’ve used Barge All Purpose Cement for several DIY projects, including shoe repairs, costume construction, and bonding leather to rubber — and it’s been excellent every time. The bond is incredibly strong and long-lasting. Once it cures, it holds up really well, even under stress and movement. The application is easy with the included brush inside the lid, and a little goes a long way. Just make sure to follow the directions for best results — applying to both surfaces, letting it tack up, then pressing together. It dries quickly and creates a flexible, professional-looking finish. You will not find a better glue on the market for gluing leather then this product right here. Hands down, without a doubt, the absolute best leather glue on the market. If done properly, you will separate the grains of the leather before you are able to rip the glued area apart. There is a strong (and I want to emphasize the word strong) odor coming from those glue that will make you high if you are in a closed in area.

This is great stuff. You have to apply it correctly (to both surfaces and let it dry a bit before joining them, and then hammer the seam), but it is great. I use it for joining leather in bagpipe bags and it results in truly air-tight bags. The leather itself will tear before the glue separates. I rivet the bags I make to prevent the leather tearing, but it is the cement that makes the seam. The built-in brush is worthless for anything but the crudest of jobs and I would recommend breaking it off because it just tends to create a mess. Note that you will want to get some of the solvent for it because this stuff is impossible to clean up without the solvent. In addition, if you are not going to use it all quickly, you will need the solvent to top it off when it starts to harden in the can. Also, use it in a well-ventilated area or outdoors. Toluene is not something you want to mess with in a confined space.

Best leather glue. I always come back to Barge cement for permanent adhesion of leather pieces.

This is the best glue I’ve used to fix my sneakers . I walk a lot and in weather with a lot of water . I’m able to repair the broken bottom without it coming apart again .

This worked great to put our new bumpers on the pool table. You have to let it dry completely not the five minutes as indicated- giving it a 4 because the smell was awful and should probably include warning to use in well ventilated place

After trying a ton of different adhesives, I broke down and bought this stuff (that all the old guys use). Not sure why I hesitated so long. The bond is the absolute BEST. I use it for bonding liners, sheath welts, and everything I need to hand stitch. Also works great on items I wet form. Every other adhesive breaks the bond before I'm done stitching, but this makes a permanent bond, meaning the leather will tear before the bond breaks. This is a big can, so I use metal handle "acid brushes" to spread it on the leather.

it is what is described. Prove quality glue for leather work and general purpose glueing. Will last a while, come with its own applicator brush.
