43610-00-SP FIC Travel Trailer Lock with Deadbolt - Chrome

Great replacement for original lock on a SeaHawk RV trailer. Heavy metal construction, good quality, perfect fit & works fine. No directions included, but easy to install. By the time you remove the original lock, installation of the new one should be pretty obvious. Out of the box, separate the inside & outside sections by just pulling the red locking lever off (it is a press-fit). One set of 2 keys provided. Note that the two keys are different, one for top lock & the other for the deadbolt. Phillips screwdriver needed for installation.

I bought this to replace the factory installed lock on a 2007 camper. Installation was easy and it worked like a charm. I replaced two previous locks on a 32 ft trailer. I have been extremely pleased with this product. Just make sure you are ordering the correct lock. In some cases you must partially disassemble the lock to find the proper part number. Fastec has a website that is helpful.

Purchased this lock set for our motorhome. The existing lock did not have outside key slot for the bolt lock, just the spring handle latch. Installation was easy and the fit was very close. Lock works fine. Quality fine. The problem is that we ordered chrome, not white, per the listing and the picture. However, we were about to leave on a trip so the white one was installed. Fortunately, the door is painted white so the lock looks fine. Any other "wrong" color and we would have sent it back. The previous lock was chrome and, we believe, more durable. There are already visible scratches and chips on this one. If you purchase this I would suggest confirming the color by email or telephone.

The lock fit the existing holes and was easy to mount. The keys and both locks worked great after installation...tested multiple times. Fast forward...the first time I went to lock the trailer door (at night) the deadbolt locked fine but the other lock not so well. The key turned to a certain point and then just broke off. Thankfully, it happened at home and I was able to snag the broken key (inside the lock) using a needle nose pliers. Now, I can only lock the deadbolt lock.

I have a mid 90's Lance camper and the original lock stopped working. This was a direct replacement and took just a few minutes to install. Works great and has smooth operation. Looks great to!

This Fastec rv door lock is a replacement of a similar FIC lock which was the original in our Lance camper. The lock fit the camper door and screwed in easily. I reused the screws from the original lock because they are better quality than those supplied with the new lock. Overall the quality of the new 'made in China' replacement lock is less substantial. A spring in the lock is smaller and weaker. There is more 'play' in the moving parts because the fit and precision of the stampings of the parts is less precise. There is noticeable filing and adjusting of the fit of parts that is absent in the original lock and not very precisely done. I think this will be a short term replacement for the original which just wore out after 14 years of use, but I don't expect it to last. Besides reusing the screws I lubricated the new lock at all contact points of the moving parts, lock cylinders, and keys with graphite powder to improve function which made a noticeable improvement. I will spend more for a better replacement when this one fails.

Perfect fit for my cargo trailer door. A great finish to the stainless. Seems excellent quality.
