How will this is survive after multiple washes? Does it perform utter poorly like pretty much every coleman sleeping bag?

Hi! Unless you lay your sleeping bag in something really unsanitary like bear scat ( only kidding), the health dept told me to expose each side to sunshine for 2 hours a day. It will be sanitized. We always air ours out on each side during the day if good weather. The health dept said you can use the sun to o sanitize a lot of things that are unwashable. I put my bag in the dryer for 20 min before and after a trip to prevent bug problems. And I made a bag out of a sheet that I store it in off season in a box with a little food grade diatomaceous earth in the edges of the box. I store this inside the house in case of power outages. Have never had one in cold weather ( furnace stopped working for a day), but my neighbors were without power for 8 days in the middle of winter. Good luck. If you want to go the quick route there are chemical sanitizing sprays. I just don't know how safe they are.

Can you zip 2 bags together

No, I just bought two but can’t connect them because it has a red plastic piece that prevents the zipper from detaching. You cannot zip two together without modifying the sleeping bag
