Several times I have printed them out and then lost them in the blizzard of paper in my office. Now when I exclaim to my husband, “That’s unconstitutional!” I can refer to this book to back up my intuition. And when making posters for marches, the Declaration is full of inspiring phrases from Jefferson’s pen that remind us of what Americans have been fighting for these last 250 years. I thank one of my very favorite historians (Sorry, Doris!) for putting out this new format of our American foundational ideas. We need to keep them near us for inspiration and for reassurance. Jon's Introduction was empowering. There have been many points in our history when events of the day challenged our core American values. Very small book, easy to carry in purse or suitcoat. A remarkable document. Easy to read and not very long. Just the bare bones of how to build our wonderful democracy that has been the envy of the world. Contains the Bill of Rights. A good reference book for when you forget which amendment is which. I like to keep one in my purse to give away to anyone who is interested.

This is Fiction
It’s not being followed. It’ being trampled by Polititians and the Supreme Court of the U.S. It needs updating, but the basic premises are correct.

Total Fraud!
Everything was good until I found out that they have printed the constitution in 2 places in the book, in place of The Declaration of Independence. How could they make such a big mistake? The Declaration of Independence is also one of the most important documents in political history around the world.

Es ist erstaunlich mit wie wenig Worten die Amis seit über 150 Jahren auskommen.
