Worlds Best Toaster Oven!!!!
I had the "old model" of this oven for around 5-years or so. I broke one of the infrared bulbs (while cleaning it) last week. Fortunately I found out that they have started to make this oven again. They had stopped (or at least stopped importing them) when I checked a couple of years ago for a friend of mine who wanted one. But this "new model" is exactly the same as my "old" one except the name on a couple of buttons has changed, and also it's now silver instead of white. Frist, let me just say what this toaster oven is NOT. . .It is NOT a replacement for a "traditional" oven. If you're looking for something of that sort, then I highly recommend you check out one of the Breville or Black & Decker models. This Panasonic toaster oven will NOT cook a chicken. . or bake an 8" pie.. . or bake a cake. But what it does. . .it does VERY well. This oven works by infrared light. You can Google to find out exactly how this works, if you want the specifics. Because of this, there is no pre-heating required. The lights will turn on-and-off while the oven is in operation. This can be a little "confusing" when you start to use it, but you'll get used to it. This oven works WONDERFULLY for the following items: * Toast - using whatever bread you like. . . however thick you like * Toasting bagels or English muffins * Heating pastries or croissants * Baking biscuits (Pillsbury frozen buttermilk biscuits are my favorite) * Heating frozen appetizers such as breaded cheese sticks, chicken fingers, etc. * Pizza - reheating or baking. Either a small whole pizza or a slice of a large pizza * Frozen garlic bread * Cookies Though the guide says that you can bake cakes and pies in it. . . I've tried, and it didn't work for me. If you're baking small tarts which are perhaps a half-inch thick. . .or a cake where it's no more than ½ inch thick.. .then perhaps you could get it to work. . but again. . . this is not like a "traditional" oven, so I think if you're going to bake such things, then you would be much better off using a "traditional" oven. It's wonderful that there is no pre-heating. I put frozen biscuits in, and 20-minutes later they are just perfect. The oven has some preset buttons on the front where you can also choose from "light" (shorter cooking time) to "dark" (longer cooking time). . . or. . . you can choose the temperature and length of cooking you would like, up to 25-minutes. The pan that comes with the oven is 9-inches square. This is certainly the maximum size for the oven. You will learn by trial-and-error what works best with this oven. But after having one for around 5-years, I can HIGHLY recommend it. I have never seen a toaster oven which works like this. . .which has pre-set buttons. . .which doesn't require pre-heating. . . . and does such a fantastic job. It's hard to believe that I get so excited about such an item. . .but this is one of those rare occasions where something just works well. . . REALLY REALLY well. P.S. If you are not using the preset buttons, this toaster oven has a timer up to 25-minutes. If you press the "up" arrow to increase the time, it goes in 30-second intervals up to ten-minutes, and then it goes by 1-min intervals. If you want to bake something on the "higher-end" of the timer, then use the "down arrow" to start with and it will go from 25-minutes backwards.

The Very Best of Toaster Ovens
Highly recommend this Toaster Oven. The features are outstanding! Just to outline a few of the options: The first one -- the "Toast" button is on the far left of the panel. The perfect place for those early mornings when time is limited - just place the bread in the oven and select that option - very easy to locate when one is still half-asleep. The "Reheat" button works 100%. Place the item in a ovenware container and set the timer to your liking. The finished dish will be reheated not cooked again. The "Pizza" options speaks for itself -- the pizza is cooked to perfection. The overall dimensions are perfect for countertop cooking.

Fantastic little cooker/toaster. (A Must Have if you are a single person household.)
Love it! Love it! Love it! (Did I say I love it?). I want another one. Just in case mine quits working or Panasonic quits making it. This little oven is SO versatile. You can make or re-heat lots of foods in this little gem. I HIGHLY recommend this product. Especially, it is SO good at re-heating. Works great to re-heat the fast foods from places like McDonald’s. I use the quick re-heat to get those fries I ordered, and brought home, nice and crispy like I like them. The toaster feature gets your bread toasted to perfection. (4 slices at a time. I use farm home made bread. Nice thick slices…). I love the way it can bake. Everything comes out perfectly! My only problems with this oven are the size; (It can only do single servings.) and the temperature slide for baking leaves out some of the mostly used popular settings. i.e. 395… 425. No “400”. You can only pick 395 or 425, nothing in-between. That’s a bummer, but I work around it. I use this little oven constantly. The waffle button works perfectly for Eggos and the type. I like the thicker ones and it works great for that as well. I just up the temp one setting for the thicker waffles. I highly recommend this oven. You will enjoy using the pre-sets as they can be tweaked for temp and level of “doneness”. I just wish that Panasonic would make a larger version, so that when my friend comes over, I can do two portions, or a nice 12-inch pizza.

The World's Best Toaster (Almost)
It seems to me that Panasonic began selling this (or similar) model about ten years ago. Since then, I've had three of them including the one I now use daily. Two were purchased from Amazon, one of those as a gift to me, and one was inherited from a family member. When I first had one I thought it was definitely the world's best toaster-oven, especially for a person who lives alone and can afford a little extra. Once you got the hang of it the toasting and cooking was wonderfully adjustable and even. Yes, the little tin cube looked kinda funny, but I'd tell anyone who would listen that this thing "was designed by engineers, not the marketing department." I still believe that, but there is something important you should know. If you were ever flush enough to own, lets say a BMW, Jaguar or other European wonder car, you may already know this. The first cube I had lasted (with daily use) for three to four years. About that time its ON/OFF switch failed. At that point I was pretty mellow about it because it was beautiful to use and "nothing lasts forever." I made a half-hearted attempt to see if I could repair it. But when I saw the electronics inside I figured, time to move on. I then dallied for a couple of years with a low-priced, big box, take up your counter, stainless steel thing that worked, never failed but was sort of the Yugo Plus of cooking tools. Lucky for me, I then inherited my second cube in almost new condition. I used it for about a year and a half, when, J&M&J, the ON/OFF switch failed. Since usually I try to fix things--and since I knew this must be a year or two out of warranty--I thrashed around to see how to fix it. Long looking for parts led me to understand that the ON/OFF switch was soldered into the motherboard. Further, that the motherboard cost approximately the same as a new cube. Simultaneously ( Finagle's Corollary) someone gave me a new Panasonic from Amazon and I discovered from checking such die-hards as those at iFixit.com that failure of the ON/OFF switch on the Panasonic Cube was remarkably non-rare. Several handy folks there figured out how to repair the switch by replacing it, but that required soldering skills that were far beyond mine. In addition, these hackers in some ways opined that this was still the best toaster oven in the world but that Panasonic had unfortunately bought quite a few sub-standard ON/OFF switches. So, as coward's never prosper, I just opened my new gift and have hoped for the best for about two years now. I've enjoyed the toast immensely, the warmed up Costco pizza slices, the baked potatoes-for-one, the toasted chickpeas, and all the rest of it. But the funny thing is that my third cube has developed what I like to think of as the "Omega Variant." The ON/OFF switch still works perfectly, but the TOAST switch has failed. I've found workarounds of course, like using "HASH BROWNS" instead of toast with some Yugo-like consequences. But, I think Omega might be my last of these. In case, you've never taken your BMW or Mercedes in for a routine service, you might not realize that, truly, it is better to be rich and healthy on the Autobahn than poor and sick in Scranton.

Best toaster oven
BEST toaster I've ever owned. Toasts bread very quickly and evenly, both sides. Interior light is very bright and functional. Heats frozen waffles perfectly. Very powerful so you have to watch things until you get used to it. Great for reheating too.

FlashXpress XL burnt plastic odor and poor design
I am a happy user of a Panasonic FlashXpress for years and very excited to see a new larger model with more features to I ordered the FlashXpress Air Fryer Toaster Oven NB-G211P. First a bad omen, the package was damaged (see photo) but the unit seemed OK. The instructions say to run it in Air Fryer mode first to get of an "odd" odor. The odor is a burnt plastic stink that even after running it over 6 times persists. The inside smells OK-ish but the fan blows out a stink that lingers. Over time it might get better but I had anther appliance where even after a year still had the same issue... not going through that again. Additionally, Panasonic lost the plot on the functionality. The "Fryer" fan runs for every function, even toast. It's loud and it can't really toast or broil properly in constant convection mode. Plus instead of an easy button push like the old smaller FlashXpress fiddle with the dials for every function and then press start. Preheat also does not automatically finish and then start the cook timer. You have to press the start button a second time to start the actual cooking once the preheat is complete... and almost all the functions require preheat. Unhappily due to the stinky odor I am returning the product. Panasonic needs to up the quality control of the plastic used in this product and also improve the functionality of the user interface and get of the fan running for every function.

Great Countertop Toaster Oven
This is a great countertop toaster oven. Nice and light. Cooks nicely. We use it mainly to toast various breads and muffins although it’s much more versatile. We’ve had our first one for over 10 years and it’s still working great. Very easy to keep clean and very easy to operate. This is a very dependable brand. Never had any issues with it. Great quality product for sure.

Best and fastest toaster oven hands down
First of all, let me say that I hate crappy products. If a product doesn't perform as expected or as promised, it's returned in a heartbeat. I've owned dozens of toaster ovens and recently needed to replace one, a Black & Decker older model, that lasted for well over a decade. The thing still worked, but the handle fell off and then ultimately the toaster function stopped working. But for the number of years of service I got from it, it owed me nothing. Looking to replace it, I first tried a Breville, which is a highly regarded brand. It disappointed. Horrible at toasting, something that you think would be the easiest function for a toaster oven. Next I try to brand that I didn't know but took a chance on because it had decent reviews, a Gourmia. A good looking unit, but with ridiculously polished knobs that if your fingers had any moisture on them whatsoever from cooking, which is common, you are actually unable to turn them on or off. In addition, it had the three rack positions that you had to change depending upon what you needed to do which is a pain. What's more, like the Breville, it was horrible at toasting. If you're interested you can see my review for that unit here on Amazon. Finally I took the chance on this Panasonic Flash Express. It was very highly reviewed not just here on Amazon, but in other review publications. I don't know why I didn't go with this one first, but I'll tell you what, this thing is unbelievable. So much that I bought one for my mother for her birthday. She loves it when she's a total skeptic. Don't be fooled with how lightweight it is when you take it out of the box. This thing is so ridiculously fast it's almost is as quick as a microwave oven. It heats instantly. It has two types of infrared tubes inside. One of them, when it works, illuminates the entire inside of the oven. This serves a secondary function because it allows you to see the progress of your cooking. The light does not stay on, because it's primary function is a heating element so it switches on and off in order to maintain temperature. There is a like button which you can press which will temporarily turn it on for a peek inside. The other tube is a larger tube, a different type of infrared, which also heats ridiculously fast. The two work in concert to produce the fastest toaster oven I've ever experienced in my life. The buttons are easy to use. It gives a nice warning tone at the end. Two and a half minutes for two slices of toast beautifully done. Frozen pizza in just a few minutes. It's unbelievable. I can't say enough about it. If you hate crappy products as much as I do and you're looking for a new toaster oven, stop messing around with all the others. Just get this one. You'll be as impressed as I am. A+++ highly recommended.
