Black Cohosh Root

I bought these for my wife because black cohosh is supposed to help with hot flashes. She tried them for a month and didn’t think they were doing anything, so she stopped taking them. Within a few days her hot flashes got worse again, so she decided yes — they do work, and they work well. They do not eliminate hot flashes at least for my wife but they do seem to lessen the severity of them. As long as these keep the hot flash dragon out of my house, I’m good with it. I suspect you will need to be born as a female for them to work. If you live in the world of make believe and only think you are a woman save your money for the psychiatrists

I been using this for a year and can say that it honestly does work as advertised. My hot flashes are almost gone and thankfully so are the mood swings. My husband calls them “my magical pills “ and is happy with them too. I highly recommend Black Cohosh to any woman suffering from menopause.

I was honestly ready to die. The sweats started 2 months ago, and I could not believe that this was what the actual definition of a hot flash was. I ordered this 3 weeks ago, and as of this week this is the first week that I actually forgot that I had hot flashes. I initially was so scared that this wasn't going to work. When the flashes first started, they would hit every hour on the hour without fail. I tried estroven, didn't work at all. 4 weeks on it. Nothing. Then I saw the review for this, on a whim. Figured this is the last hope, before losing my mind and 302ing myself. The first week nothing changed. The second week 50%. This week which is the third week I realized I was sleeping through the night, maybe waking up to use the bathroom, but not the demon hot flashes. I am now turning the heat on and walking around in my usual sweatpants and sweatshirt because I am a person that normally suffers from anemia. All of my life I have always been cold, it didn't matter if it was 110° out I loved the heat because my body never regulated to anything other than cold. So for this to happen it was such a shock to my system. Going from being cold for the last 47 years of your life to switch dramatically to burning ,burning scalding sweaty sweat. I finally am able to wake up after a good 7 hours of sleep, instead of every hour on the hour to throw myself over the fan, open every window, and wait for relief. This stuff really works. I am able to go to the grocery store without looking like a suspect about to rob the store because of all of the sweat streaming from my head to my toes like I had just shoplifted everything in the store. Give this a shot it works. I am so very thankful. UPDATE* I have been taking this since 9/13, today is 12/10. Not one - do you hear?? NOT ONE SINGLE FLASH!! I even forget to take them now., and it also regulated my period which I haven't seen since August. I have gone maybe the most of 2 days, until a flash back of a hot flash pops into my head, and then I feverishly jump up and make a Beeline to the medicine cabinet in fear it may strike again with vengeance. So far, nothing has come to that point, but at least I am able to kind of give my body a break from taking them so excessively, and cut it down to at least once a day. Definitely worth the it and I am so grateful for this product. It WORKS!!

So far I feel a difference in hot flashes, very effective. I have the same energy but I still have sleepiness. Easy to take and I like the basic ingredients.

My OBGYN recommended this for natural relief of hot flashes. I did not have high hopes, but found that after only a few doses, my hot flashes all but disappeared. I’ve taken this for several years now. At one point I stopped taking it because I thought that I was just done having hot flashes but within a few days of missed doses my hot flashes were back. The stuff works.

5 stars for efficacy, because it definitely works. I am only giving 3 stars because the dosage is way too high. Each pill is 540 mg and the recommended dosage was to take 1 pill, 3 times a day. After having a very adverse reaction (see below), I find that studies recommend keeping daily TOTAL intake under 160mg. Also read it can be hard on the liver if you take too much for too long. I also want to say that I got this supplement just for a little progesterone boost since I have always had low pdg. I'm only 37 and have had low pdg for years; haven't had a period in over a decade. It has only been in the last year that I started feeling more menopausal type effects. Wanted to try something natural instead of being stuck taking an OTC medication. I took the 540mg pills as described (3x daily) for two whole days. The first day and half were great, I felt awesome! Not sure if it was the pills or not but now that I'm off of them and feeling like garbage again, I think they did help me....until they really started building up in my system. Toward the end of day two, I started getting a terrible headache and really intense pain in my breasts, one breast in particular. Urine was also very yellow and gross. I don't have a lot of medical knowledge, but it was pretty obvious my body was working overtime trying to process the pills since that was the only thing I had changed. I stopped taking them immediately because I was a little freaked out by it all. I nursed my headache until it went away but one breast continued to hurt for days after quitting the pills...that is until it randomly started LEAKING. That's right folks, I started lactating. I'm not pregnant and have never been pregnant. I was shocked. After everything had drained out, the breast stopped hurting and dried up in a couple of days but it was really very freaky and don't want to go through it again. In spite of that crazy reaction, I still want to take black cohosh and was happy to find that this same company makes a smaller dose pill. I will buying it today and will keep my daily intake around 40-80mg. This is a lot of personal info to put out there but I hope it helps someone else that might be in a similar situation.

I have been using this product for 6 days for the purpose of treating hot flashes. On day 5, hot flashes stopped and I didn’t feel anything at all. Night sweating decreased a lot. So far, it is amazing and working for me. Will give an update after few weeks. Thank you
