The author provides some historical background on each flower, and some instructions for preparing an arrangement. I have two complaints. One is that the photos needlessly transverse the book's gutter, sometimes by only an inch or two, thereby ruining the overall effect of the photo. Second, the photos are mostly back-to-back, as is the prose, so if you wanted to use the photos in something else, only half the book is useable. Overall, this is a gorgeous book.

Beautiful book!
I saw this beautiful book on YouTube, many artists using it for paintings. I love the book. the pictures are fantastic! Hopefully I will be using it for my watercolor art.

Excellent Color Reference for Colorists!
Wow! This book is hefty in size. I was amazed just how crisp and big the photos of the specimen flowers were. I was hesitant getting this. I had it saved in my shopping cart for several weeks now. I was debating if what I needed it for would justify the $40 cost. After getting it today, I couldn't be happier. It was better than I expected or thought it to be. It served my purpose right and beyond. My laptop or phone won't display a bigger close up photo like ones in it. I should say for the price it's well worth it!

Lovely Images and Few Words
What I liked about this book is that it "delivered" what I wanted! IMAGES, few words that were sufficient, and no long dissertation on the botanical views of flowers. I got a book of the beauty of the flowers in a way that the idea of Beauty was clear and simple! Thanks!
