I purchased this cable for my Lenovo ThinkPad T520. I had been using a VGA cable to display on my ASUS monitor, but I wanted something better for Amazon Instant and Netflix streaming. This cable was the perfect solution. Using the DisplayPort to DVI cable, I can now display in full 1080p HD. Video streaming looks great on Amazon, Netflix, and YouTube. As a graphic designer, I also use the Adobe designer suite (mostly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop). The improved quality is very noticeable and helpful when working on complex designs. For those interested in gaming, I have used this cable for Civilization 5 and League of Legends. Display quality has been excellent, and any delay is unnoticeable. The overall build quality of this cable is solid. I have been using this cable for months now and have had no issues with shorts or anything signs of cheap build materials. If you use you computer for gaming, streaming, or designing, I highly recommend this cable!

This is a nice heavy well-made cable. Works great for my addition of a second monitor to my computer. The locking mechanism on the data port end is a plus over other cables I looked at and was a selling feature for me. With all the cables coming out of the back of your computer, it's nice to know this one will stay in place.

Overall, this cable is great and is serving my purpose very well. However, it started out looking that that wasn't going to be the case. There is a lot of unnecessary bulk to the Displayport end of the cable; I base that off the fact I have much slimmer DP cables. That may not be an issue for many, but in my situation my video card is slightly recessed from the back, and by slightly I'm talking the thickness of a thin piece of sheet metal. That created a problem because I couldn't get the DP to fully seat because it was snagging on the metal back plate of my case. I had to open up the computer, unlatch the video card, and wiggle it slightly to be able to plug the DP in. It works, but it adds a bit of strain to my PCI slot on the motherboard. If it ends up failing because of the stress, and I lose an expensive workstation mobo, it will be a big issue... but for now, it's working great. Cable functions fantastic.

If you want to add an extra monitor or just have a displayport available this is the item for you. It does what it says in the description, no more no less. Currently connected to a 1920 x 1200 LED display. It says in the description that it is a passive, pass through, not bidirectional. So if you need to setup 3 or more displays with AMD Eyefinity then follow the AMD "how to" on AMD's website and get a recommended adapter. Please read the description (see below) and if you do not know how to read find a friend that does before purchasing and then leaving low rating: This is a passive cable that requires a DP++ port (DisplayPort++), meaning that DVI and HDMI signals can also be passed through the port. * This passive adapter supports up to 2 monitor display configurations using AMD Eyefinity Multi-Display technology. To support more monitor displays, an active adapter is required. * This cable can only pass signal from DisplayPort to HDMI port. This is NOT a bi-directional cable. * Latching and screw locking connectors ensure that the cables remain secure, preventing accidental disconnection. Please press the button on the DP end to disconnect the cable.

I am currently using these for my work station. The computer is using a GeForce 980 Ti, which I need for development work, but the monitors don't need to run amazing graphics (I have VR for that) so I went with old model 1080p monitors since they were cheap and functional. The problem I faced was that none of the connections for the monitor were compatible with new graphics card, but this worked perfectly. As a side note, I'd suggest getting 10 feet instead of 6 feet. I got a set of two 6 feet, and although it fits, it's really snug and may cause problems for me when I eventually can a monitor mount. I will definitely buy that when I get a third monitor and a mount to be safe.

Works great. I realize a two word review is not a useful review, but... OK details. Works great connecting a Samsung laptop to a Samsung 1680x1050 display at 60 hz? It looks well built with no externally visible flaws? Not sure why it is so important to prominently display the Cable Matters brand on both ends of the cable? Wondering if I paid extra for a higher quality silk screening process to ensure that the brand is sharp and sexy, rather than just molding the brand into the plastic? Wondering why the brand isn't molded into the plastic, is this an OEMed version of an off the shelf product in another country, and if so does this mean that reviews are meaningless because the quality could change at any time? Wondering if "works great" would have been a more useful review? Yeah. Works great!

Di recente sto acquistando diversi cavi e di molti generi e tra questi annovero questo ottimo cable matter. Cavo dall'indiscutibile qualità superiore considerando i materiali che lo compongono e eccellente per il rapporto qualità prezzo. Già dalla confezione si deduce che il contenuto non può che essere valido e di lì a breve se ne ha la conferma appena lo si ha tra le mani. Al tatto i materiali non risultano rigidi, il cavo stende facilmente nonostante il suo generoso diametro, le terminazioni sono ben collegate e i connettori sono placcati in oro. Non deve essere configurato, non ci sono driver da scaricare, lo si inserisce nelle porte del pc e del monitor ed è quanto basta per avere un'ottima risoluzione 1920x1200 in modalità estesa o anche duplicato. Il mio utilizzo è marginalmente per cad e rendering e in maniera più esclusiva per monitoraggio di trading, quindi solo internet, ma non l'ho provato per hdtv o videogiochi e la qualità dell'immagine è come se fosse da monitor principale "stabile e risoluta" senza effetti scrolling o sfarfallii. E' un cavo passivo il che, come riportato anche nella descrizione del prodotto, significa che i segnali dvi o hdmi (in quest'ultimo caso con adattatore) possono passare attraverso la porta pc. I fruitori possono essere tutti, da coloro che fanno rendering a chi fa fotoritocco anche professionale, e pur non avendolo provato per quest'ultimo, direi anche gli appassionati di gaming.
