Is this suitable as a cosplay prop for an adult or is it noticabley smaller and meant solely for a child?

The strap is sized for a child or smaller sized adult. I added a strip of black elastic as an extender and can to wear it just fine at a 40" waist. Apart from the strap, it is sized appropriately for adult costumes and cosplay.

Would this fit an adult let's say with waist size of 40"+ ? Would like to use as a gag gift for adults.... ???

I wear a 38" waist and had to add on an extra velcro segment to wear it.

Does it really have a real aduilt replica feel?

No. It looks nice but it's like a vinyl /plastic feel. I actually bought it cause my son had a wrestling themed birthday party and all his friends signed it as a memento.
