Xylitol is a wonderful & completely natural way to help re-mineralize your teeth. And Health Garden's 5 lb bag provides a substantial supply of the sweet stuff! I've Never had a bad reaction for a 5 to 8 gram spoon of this xylitol. Just don't overdo it and space it out. I think keeping a daily intake less than 15 grams or so spaced out between morning & evening should prevent any potential side effects. The taste is just like sugar. I only use it for oral health, not as a sweetener in drinks. Some folks mix it w/ water as a mouth rinse. I've done that a few times with good results.

I purchased this brand of Xylitol after having used the {.....} brand. Even though I liked brand X mostly, for my next purchase I decided upon this brand because of the fact that it is made in the US and it is made from the birch tree. I would say it is no better or no worse than the previous brand I'd used. When I received the Health Garden Xylitol however, when it arrived the bag had burst inside the box and the sweetener had leaked out into the box. Not a hole in the box just the bag the sweetener is in. Very poorly packaged. Nothing inside the box to keep the bag of sweetener from slamming around inside. I tried to contact the seller via Amazon several times with no response and was upset because I had to throw some of the sweetener away, concerned about possible contamination. I will no longer be purchasing from this seller. This sweetener, any brand of it, is far too expensive to be wasted like that. After even further research, I have now since decided to go back to my previous brand after reading more on that products website. Yes brand X IS made from corn that comes from China but is made from NON GMO Corn Husk. Most corn here in the US IS GMO compared to that of China and since brand X is made from the husk of the corn, a part that usually gets thrown away by most people, that is green enough for me and that is also important. If brand X was made from corn here in the US, I would run screaming in the other direction. Also, corn is more sustainable than trees. I definitely would rather use a re-purposed product (corn husk) to get my sugar fix rather than having others chop down precious life giving, oxygen clearing trees. It takes how long to grow corn compared to a tree? Highly sustainable IMO. Do the homework and make up your own mind rather than succumbing to clever advertising, like I did. If there is anyone out there that knows of a brand of Xylitol made from NON GMO corn right here in the US, please share that gift of knowledge. Until then, I'm satisfied with my current brand. P.S Since my purchase of this brand, Health Garden, the price has gone up. It was cheaper than brand X, now it's not. Brand X has remained the same price.
