Which region should I select to get access to Nintendo eshop?

If you are in UAE or maybe anywhere. Once you create your Nintendo Account (Best if you make your account on PC), make sure to set your Country of Residence/Region to United States or United Kingdom in order for the Nintendo apps to work. If you select UAE - Nintendo Apps will give an error.

So i ordered an "international version",yet received one with chinese letters all over the place. apparently from hongkong. how is that international?
