You can't build a better mouse trap!
I have had quite a few different design mouse traps over the years. This one works! It has a hair trigger, so the slightest attempt by that critter to take the cheese and he's done for. These are good quality for a low price. They set easily if you aren't ham fisted. I like the bait paddle design as it holds the bait well making the little guy work for it, which you want. So far I haven't seen any bait eaten without a catch. Pro tip: try using store brand Velveeta as bait. It really sticks to the paddle. Of course, if you're feeling boojey by all means use the name brand.

I think these are the best traps for mice
I like this type of trap. With the wide trigger, if you place them in tight spaces (like besides and behind the fridge), you don't even need to bait them. I just line 3 traps in a row and make sure that theres no space for them to go around the traps, and wait. It might seem like a lot of traps, but eventually you need to throw these things out. If you haven't checked the trap in weeks, the trap can get disgusting from the dead mouse decomposing. If you catch enough mice with the trap, the staple holding the middle bar will dislodge and no longer work. But thats after years of work and the single trap has gotten like 40-50 mice (I live in the country, surrounded by woods, and have chickens and their feed attracts mice and moles like no tomorrow). I can't remember how much these were, but for a quarter or 50 cents, these things are definitely worth it.

The "Yellow Pedal" makes all the difference-classic design, zero failure rate.
I’ve tried the fancy plastic "no-touch" traps and the electronic zappers, but I keep coming back to these classic wooden Tomcat traps for one reason: sensitivity. The Trigger (Why these are better): Old-school traps used a tiny metal latch that was impossible to set without snapping your finger. These use a large, yellow plastic pedal. • Sensitivity: You don't have to force the mouse to tug on the bait. The pedal is sensitive enough that even the weight of a mouse stepping on it triggers the snap. • Safety Setting: It is significantly easier to set these without anxiety. You bait it, pull the bar back, and it clicks into the plastic slot with a definitive hold. The "Disposable" Reality: The best part about these is the price point. If you catch a mouse, you don't have to deal with the gross task of releasing it and scrubbing the trap. The wood is porous and absorbs odors/fluids anyway, so I just toss the entire trap—mouse and all—into the trash. It’s worth the few dollars to avoid the cleanup. Pro Tip for Success: Don't just put a glob of peanut butter on the pedal; they can sometimes lick it off. I smear a little peanut butter on, then press a single piece of dog food or a nut into the peanut butter. It forces them to work for it, which guarantees a trigger. Verdict: Simple, cheap, and lethal. If you have a serious problem, don't waste time with "humane" or "easy-set" plastic gadgets. These are the gold standard for a reason.

Definitely get the job done
They did what they were supposed to do. I would definitely recommend watching a video on how to set it tho. There’s a way to set it to a more sensitive setting that I was unaware of until recently. I read the directions wrong which is why I said watch a video on setting these. Once you learn how to properly set them they are easy to use, and they work great. They caught all the mice in my house right away. They can be tricky and dangerous to set so adults should set and handle these. They are durable and work as advertised. I’m not sure why you’d clean them after use?? I just threw them away with the mouse in it. I would not reuse it.

Get that mouse!
Since my last cat passed away, I need something to take care of the occasional mice that sneak in. These get the mouse within hours and set in a way that doesn't risk a broken finger. I put a bit of peanut butter on the cheese slice, set it next to a wall where the mousie runs, make sure the area's open enough to let the bar swing down on squeaky and just wait til I hear a snap. Never takes long.

Wow, these really work!
Bought only one pack bc I was struggling with something that works. I used the plug in buzzers before and those worked for over 16 yrs.. Once day, the mice showed up. I guess the buzzers lost the Pitch that keeps them away. Bought new ones and they helped but I still struggle. Bought some snap traps and Put the first one out and the mouse ate the dog treats clean off the trap and no mouse. Tried again and within literally a few hours, I got it. So excited, I put another one out downstairs and about twenty minutes later, I heard the snap! I catch them as soon as 20 minutes and a few hours. One time, it took about two days. If you know where they are, it will get them. Just be careful to keep it out of reach of a dog or cat. These things snap with a lot of force that the trap will actually flip over. They are actually Humane bc I don’t think the mouse knows it died. It’s just so fast and final. And so far, they always flip over so all I see is the bottom half. I don’t see the faces and don’t want to. Just put in a bag and throw out! I was trying out those catch and release but every time I checked, nothing was there. I forgot about it and finally pulled it out from under where it was. There was as dead mouse. It likely suffered and died a slow death. These snap traps are so quick, no suffering. I started out not wanting them dead but after awhile I just couldn’t take it that they were in my house. They literally get into everything. It’s disgusting. Buying more!
