Can the iPad be used vertically with the stand to hold it up

I think what you’re actually want to know is whether is can be used in Landscape and/or Portrait orientation. The answer is Yes to both. In Landscape orientation you fold over the front cover & lock it into the tabs/slots on the back of the cover. In that mode You can choose a variety of “lean-back” angles. In Portrait orientation you go through the same steps the just rotate the iPad 90 degrees (on edge). It will stand absolutely vertical in that mode. The only way to get it to “lean back” any in Portrait mode is to leave the front cover loose (not locked into the slots). You’ll see the corners of the front cover has been “clipped.” By tilting the iPad back with the cover extended behind you can tilt it back about 15-30 degrees. It is less stable in this mode & is very marginal on a very smooth surface, but “better than nuthin’!”

Will the pencil be able to wireless charge with the case on ?

The pencil charges in the slot that aligns with magnetic side of the iPad - plus there’s an elasticized slot on the back as an option if you’re worried about it falling off (never had that problem)

The case has a Apple pencil pocket and that is how it gets charged. The magnet is very strong and the pencil has never fallen off. I would buy the Zugu Case again when I upgrade to a newer Ipad pro.

Will it turn the iPad on and off?

Yes, when you close the cover it will turn your tablet off. When you open it back up it will wake up to your Lock Screen. If you have the feature turned on.
