My first time use this Hamilton Beach 6 QT slow cooker was to make gelatin, which is collagen peptides, for its amazing healing property. I set the slow cooker on Slow Setting for 8 hours. After 8 hours it was not quite ready. I added another 2 hours. It finally ready after 10 hours. I added the gelatin in sausage potato soup, millet porridge and seaweed soup, etc. The second time I used it to make BBQ pork on Slow Setting for 6 hours. The pork turned out to be very succulent, tender, not too sweet, but flavorful because the BBQ sauce mixed with pork gelatin. I haven’t tried the defrost function yet. This slow cooker inner pot is not too big nor too small, which fits right in the small sink and very easy to clean. The touch buttons and setting are user friendly once you read the instructions. The outer casing and the inner pot both are relatively light weight. Locked lid feature is great during cooking to lock in the flavor and avoided leaking during transport. Overall, I’m very happy with this slow cooker.

Had to retire my 15 + yr old Hamilton Beach slow cooker. It served us well, it was still working but the control button covers were worn away. I wanted something similar and stuck with what I knew, Hamilton Beach. This one has all of the features my old one did, temperature probe, high low settings, optional manual timing with half hours, stays on warm when done, lid lock, etc… an added bonus on this one is the defrost feature before cooking which I believe automatically starts cooking after defrosting (I haven’t used it yet). My old one was a little larger which isn’t a big issue, 6 quarts is plenty big. Good value for the money.

Nice, compact, little cooker. Easy to move around and works well. Ideal for smaler family cooking.

Ok, so over all this is a good slow cooker, the only thing is the warmer is only between around 161-165 the most, in order for 180 it needs to be on low setting, high only up to 200 max, wish it could gone a bit higher, I used it for making bone broth, used prog bring the temp up to max; 200. Then kept it on warm, it actually lasted about 24 hours before shut off by itself, which I thought it was great, the bone broth came out really nice and clear, I then use a separater to go get rip off the oil, try the broth, nice and fresh, then turn it off a few minutes, turn it back on, for another 24 hours, the finished product was great, do over all is a really good slow cooker, ( the old one we had were only able to kept it on for about 8-9 hours, which is not much of a slow cook..... ) Anyway the outside seems to be really cheap make, almost like it.'s make off foil that's it, the pot itself is really thick and heavy, which to me is great, the lids lock is perfect, has a seal, but the broth still able to go throught, which tells me I'd not a perfect seal anyway overall I am happy with this pot especially it's able to stay on for 24 hours!!! Anyway; would I buy it again; yes; most definitely.

Works well, doesn't leak, easy to use. It's a great size for me and is easy to clean up. I would buy again.

This is a GAME CHANGER in the slow cooking world. My old cooker only had the option of 4,6,8 hours and my chicken always ended up super dry. I love being able to use the meat thermometer to set the internal cooking time. Absolutely worth the additional cost. And the locking lid makes transport so much easier!
