Great product to lower the volume
These are terrific! They definitely reduce the noise level a lot and can make you feel a lot more comfortable especially if you are sensitive to noise. They fit in the ear and have a nice carrying case to store. I have had them for over a year now and they still work great. They are definitely worth it.

They work and are easy to use!!
EarDials are a great product. I wear them at the gym for dance class and they help reduce the sound without distorting. The carrying case attaches to my keys so I have them always with me. They are easy to use and not visible. I was recommended to try them by an acquaintance who uses them as a professional musician. I wouldn't have known how helpful they could be. The customer service is perfect. They helped me to resolve a problem of my own making with kindness and prompt attention. I recommend EarDials to anyone I know who is exposed to loud music to protect their hearing.

Very satisfied
These worked excellently for me. Most of the poor reviews I’ve read on here seem to be associated with differences in ear canal size, and I could definitely see how a difference in just a few millimeters could make quite a difference in your personal experience with various ear plugs. With that being said, these just happened to be quite effective for me. Reasonably comfortable (as comfortable as having a foreign object in your ear canal can be) I wore them for 2 hours straight with nearly no discomfort. These were close to 100% effective after a blisteringly loud band rehearsal. I was able to hear the music with no issues while suffering zero post rehearsal ringing or hearing loss. As far as them being discreet, no one asked me if I was wearing ear plugs so I will assume they weren’t noticed, and when looking at them in the mirror they are nearly invisible. The only downside was that due to them being designed as discreet they are somewhat difficult to get a grip on and remove. The little rubber nib designed to grab onto is nearly useless. That being said, I was able to remove them with my fingers and was never worry about losing them into my ear canal. TLDR; Very effective in extremely high noise musical environments while still being able to carry on a normal volume conversation. Reasonably comfortable. Somewhat difficult to remove. Your ear canal and experience may vary.

Stop contemplating and just buy them.
Here's the scoop on these ear plugs. I am someone who frequents music festivals and local venues to see varying electronic music artists. Over the last year, I noticed a very subtle decline in my hearing which is undoubtedly due to dancing the night away in front of speakers playing tunes till sunrise. I was initially going to go with a cheaper pair of earplugs, but the "Amazon's Choice" logo convinced me to give these a look. "$25 bucks?!" I told myself. No way, seemed too expensive. But after looking into the design more and their science-backed claims of noise protection, I figured I'd give it a shot; I guess spending a few bucks on preserving my hearing is something worthwhile. When they initially came in the mail, I was almost disappointed to see two small pieces of silicon that looked like they could be picked up from CVS. I figured I overpaid, but before jumping to conclusions I would at least give them a shot. I went to a local club here that had some techno and house DJs playing 8+ hour sets. As I was having a few drinks, I remembered that I had brought my Eardials, so I popped em' in. WOW. It was as if the clarity of the sound got even better, yet reduced to a noise level where my ears just felt more comfortable. DJ decides to drop one of your favorite songs? Move a little closer to the speaker, whip out your phone and open the app. The app is dummy-proof and so simple. You just click the app button, and a screen comes up with one big button that uses your phone's microphone to pick up the dB level to tell you how long you can listen where you're standing before suffering any hearing damage - both with and without Eardials in. (as a side note, even if you don't purchase Eardials, do yourself a favor and download the app - it's free). What blew me away the most was the clarity of voices of those talking around me. If you go out frequently, I'm sure you're all too familiar with the pains of having a conversation with someone anywhere music is playing due to the loud volume. Everyone ends up having to lean over to their friend's ear and make a" mini-megaphone" gesture using your hands to shout something into their ear. Not good guys, not good. You'll trash your hearing permanently. With the Eardials, I have no idea why, but the clarity of voices somehow seems to penetrate more efficiently than the music, which makes having a conversation with someone WAY easier. My friend looked at me as if I was over-exaggerating how great they were, so I let him try them on for a couple minutes. Lo and behold, he pulled out his phone and ordered a pair right then and there. The customer support is great. I got a direct response from the founder of the company (did not expect that at all) who addressed my small issue right away (which was actually completely my fault, but he still sent me a brand new pair). I thought that was pretty cool, as I assumed I would end up speaking with some sort of customer service rep. Okay, so nothing's perfect, right? Here is where I feel Eardials could improve. On my way home from an event in an uber, somehow the holding case managed to unscrew, and I lost one of my earplugs. Though there is a rubber o-ring to tighten the seal, the metal case does not tighten securely as good as plastic would. My suggestion would be to make a different locking mechanism on the case, such as some sort of "click" mechanism vs. the current screw-on design. Maybe even some sort of strong magnetic design. That being said, most of the other designs on carrying cases of similar products seem to have a similar design, so it's not really a drawback to the product. Oh yeah, remember that day-after feeling in your ears after a night of loud music, maybe a faint ringing and slight discomfort that resolves within a day or two? You won't after using these. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these. Or two, that way when your friend tries them, they won't have to wait 2 days for them to come in the mail after they see how good they are.

Fantastic product, better company.
I am a drummer, an audiophile that uses UE Pro 11 IEMs, living in the live music capital of the World (Austin, TX), a motorcycle rider, a "too-loud-of-an-office" worker, and a casual handgun/shotgun shooter. I've tried over a dozen highly-rated, entry & mid level ($10-50), sound protection devices. EarDial's design, while shares the same fundamental design seen in others, has been mastered so that you have comfort (like nothing else mass produced that you've tried) & stealth design. The plugs are made from a much-softer medical-grade silicone which allow these to get a better/more-comfortable seal. Container design: one of my favorite aspects; the storage container. Perfect does not do it justice. You will think that it's too small (since it's nearly half the size of other company's containers) & that the ear plugs are getting crushed, but they fit perfectly & do not lose their shape while being stored. There is no other set of ear protection plugs that have such a compact storage design, which fits my needs for storage & transport quite nicely. The lobster clasp is also high quality, & doesn't bend open like some of the other brands. The only semi-disappointing comment is that these are designed for someone with average ear canals (mine are quite large) & so I wish that these came in a larger diameter as well. I can sometimes feel these move further into my ear because of the cone tension, & move the filter away from being directed towards my eardrum, which makes it sound like your ears are clogged (like when you speak while plugging your ear with your finger) vs just being dampened. The company: fantastic service. Best warranty of 5yrs. Do not be surprised if you contact support & find the CEO takes a personal interest in resolving your issue. They make a truly fantastic product, but the company will be the reason why I end my search for ear protection. Overall, these have taken the place of all of my other ear protection devices for everything I do. I wear them at least 5hrs per day. I clean them with alcohol every day. I would only replace them with $200 custom hearing protection from UE Pro Custom, but would still keep these close at hand as my first choice.

Ok
So after using them for 3 hard rock concerts this is my review... Yes they are better then foam plugs because they are not as bulky and muffle the sound. We bought 2 pair, one for me and one for my husband. We both thought they sound better. Can we hear each other talk at a concert in between bands like you say, no, not at all. We still have to take them out and they are so small we are afraid we will loose them and for the price, omg, not worth the price. The sound is still muffled, just not at bad so there is nothing smart about these things. They just don't block as much sound as the other plugs and at 27 dollars each I feel like I was ripped off for sure. Now, my husband has a problem with his being too small for his ear canal and sometimes I have to use tweezers and help him get them out, for real. Way too much money to spend on these for all this drama. We might look for something else. The app is free and you can download it of you have the plugs or not. So do what ever... Nothing smart about the plugs themselves at all...

Best. Concert. Plugs. EVER!!!
I've been using the EarDials now for nearly a year at music festivals, night clubs, and tiny bars while listening to all kinds of music genres--loudly. After a particularly loud show in Telluride last winter (Jerry Joseph) my ears rang for 2 days and I was very concerned about further hearing loss (I'm 55) having been listening to loud music for 40+ years. So I shopped around and decided on the EarDials as they seemed to have truly done their homework on how to mitigate hearing damage while still allowing enough sensitivity to hear the music with a high level of clarity. Man, was I psyched to have purchased wisely! These plugs are very comfortable to wear! They seem to be the ideal size so that they don't go too deep and become irretrievable (I've had that happen with tissue) yet still maintain a snug fit. Virtually invisible, they don't have that dopey look that gives away the fact that I'm a sensible guy and probably twice as old as most everyone in the club! No longer am I too concerned about being jammed up against the side of the crowd with a six foot speaker pointing at my right ear! This is a such small price to pay for the peace of mind that I won't be permanently damaged for being too buzzed to care what is happening to my ears at some monumental show. The cylindrical carry case is perfect for the plugs. At first you'll think it is too small for the plugs because you kind of have to jam them in and screw it shut. But the plugs do not lose their shape being in the case snugly and with the case being half the size of a tube of lip balm means you don't have much bouncing around in your pocket as you leap around the dance floor. I've got a couple of pairs in my overnight toiletries kit (one for me & one for my sweetie--I care about her ears too!) for when we go to shows out of town and then I keep a pair in the car for the incidental concert I might stumble across. While great for loud music they are equally comfortable when sleeping at a noisy hotel or when you need to sleep in late from a little too much excess! Finally, the customer service is fantastic! I felt I had to send a note to the company complimenting them on the product and got a prompt reply from the CEO! He is very engaged in his company & goes out of his way to insure all his customers are happy----like ME!!

Product Works!
After using molded earplugs, and not liking the complete drown-out of all noise (plus hearing yourself in your head, every time you swallowed, or if chewing gum while riding), my wife and I sought out other options for hearing protection, while riding our motorcycles. Ear-Dial came highly recommended by various rider related sites. I took the chance on a pair, based on these recommendations, and don't regret it. They block out high end noise, prevent after-ride "ear buzz", and allow you to still carry-on a conversation at rest breaks, and hear thing like your bike's intercom or stereo at highway speed. Compared to other options available they were reasonably priced, and come with a small container to hold them, that will clip right onto your keyring, so you never forget them. Two minor complaints; the tabs you hold for installing/removing them from your ears are rather tiny, and I find it a bit difficult to grab them, particularly when trying to remove them from your ears. If they were a bit longer it would be helpful, particularly for those of us with bigger hands. The other complaint we both have, is that our ears tend to itch while wearing them. We clean both our ears and our Ear-Dials regularly, but still find this to be that case sometimes. Not sure if it is the product itself, or just the fact ears aren't naturally meant to have something sitting in them for extended periods of time. Overall though, we're quite happy with our Ear-Dials. We recently completed an 8-day motorcycle trip, and used them every day, for several hours at a time (minus at rest stops, when we removed them temporarily). Even after several hours in the saddle our ears weren't ringing at the end of the day, and we were able to talk on our intercom system with ease. I'd recommend these to fellow riders, or anyone looking for hearing protection, without completely dampening sound with full-on earplugs.

A Different Experience - Wish These Had Been Around in the 90s! [4.5 stars]
BACKGROUND: I'm a musician so my hearing is VERY important - and fortunately, I still have a superior sense of hearing despite my younger days when I'd go out clubbing and danced next to the speakers cuz that was apparently the cool thing to do. Oh how I wish these had been around back in the 90s!!! In the last few years I started going out dancing again and found that I was uncomfortable with some of the volumes that are now being pushed by the DJs at the midnight hour. So I experimented with traditional foam ear plugs, which I'm sure protected me but, I didn't feel like I was part of the action as much. I felt the music was too muffled and I couldnt get myself into it. EAR DIALS: I first saw these advertised on a deal site and what sold me was the Android app (who doesn't like to measure stuff and have the satisfaction of knowing they are protected) as well as the translucent appearance of these. A 3rd feature that I liked was the bullet-like carrying case, which is always attached to my keys and is very handy. It comes with a glow-in-the-dark sticker too if you like that. So after going out twice here's what I have to say: REVIEW -- The PROS: Audio level is definitely reduced but not muffled so I can confirm I am protected (also no ringing noise next day). The protection is immediate - in other words you don't have to wait for the foam to expand in your ear. The app is easy to install, use, and satisfying. The fit in the ears is snug and the little piece sticks out just enough so that you can actually pull them out when you're done. The price is fair, in my opinion. The customer service is fantastic. THE CONS: Not sure if this is a con per say but, if you're used to foam ones, you may wonder at first if you put them on deeply enough because you're still hearing more than you're expected. So this "uncertainty" is a slight drawback but probably unavoidable. I have used these twice now and both times, I struggled to remove them from the carrying case. And that's because they have to be pushed in deeply in order for the case to close. Another con at the time of this writing is that it's not clear how to clean these. While a pro is that you CAN clean them, written instructions don't really help. Videos would be MUCH MORE helpful. So while I gave this 5-stars, it's actually 4.5 because of this. WISHLIST FOR NEXT VERSION: 1- Ability to control the volume of the sound you hear. While this is MUCH better than foam in that you still hear everything just at a safe level, it would be nice if somehow they figured out a way for us to adjust the volume of what we hear, either thru a twisting motion of a part, or using some technology that may come around in the future. 2- Ability to light them up..maybe have microsized LEDs on there, and then be able to control their color from the app. Many dance parties involve glowsticks, and LEDs are the rage so I see this as something that would be cool.

Best earplugs for everyday noisy environments like restaurants and theatres!
I feel uncomfortable in noisy environments where there is music blasting, like some restaurants and gyms, and I have tried a few different earplugs over the years. I was initially skeptical about EarDial Earbuds because they claim an SNR of 20, which is lower than the noise reduction of most earplugs I have tried in the past. However, EarDial Earbuds are my favourite now! • EarDial Earbuds do not reduce the noise as much as some of the other earbuds I have tried, but this turned out to be a good thing! I can wear them frequently even when it is only a little uncomfortable. I do not have to take them off every time I have to talk to someone. I have not tried it yet in an extremely noisy situation like a concert, but for everyday situations, they are perfect. • The compact case is really small, I carry them on my keyring. This way, I have them with me all the time, so I end up using it more. You have to be a bit careful though, since the compact and discreet appearance makes them easy to loose. • EarDial Earbuds don't have too many separate components, so it is easy to clean them by rinsing with warm soapy water. Some other earbuds I have used have foam components or filters that cannot be washed. • Jesús Carrera, EarDial Founder, promptly are personally respond to queries and problems!

They work, but they mute everything
For whatever reason I was led to believe that this will cancel background noise but I will still be able to hear people (obviously within reason, this is not an electronic device after all). This is not the case, those earplugs mute everything. It's still ok for most of my needs anyway, they are still better than your typical ear plugs, at least I don't need to listen to my heart beat and whatever noises happen organically within my ear with them on, which is a great plus.
