Really Great
I have a huge scan project consisting of 110,35mm transparency and film, 120 6x7 and 6x6 film and transparency dating from the 1940s to the early 2000s. A huge archive of images. Years ago I bought an epsom flatbed scanner and things were ok but it took forever to scan a single image and I ended up really hating it. I love Epson products and love the scanner for scanning prints etc. I'd seen this one for a while on Amazon. So I spent the dough and got this 8300 version, understanding that this will only be to scan my 35mm content. First let me say Ken from Plustek sent me a message thanking me for the purchase and giving me guidance on how to contact the company etc. IMO that's a real class move in this infinite communication environment we live in. The machine arrived well packaged and I am really impressed. It comes with a usb flash drive to load all the drivers and an envelope with the SilverFast info. I set it up and began to scan. The SilverFast program is a little clunky but once I got used to it it's been pretty easy. The scanner is super straight forward and easy. You can see my set up over a few scans. I use VSG vacuum/blower to blow off as much smutz as I can and a electrostatic film brush before scanning. My workflow has increased 10x compared to my flatbed and I am now about 200 scans in. What a terrific machine. When Plustek releases the 120/220 model again I'll be buying that one too. Really happy A+ company and A++ machine.

Easy to use.
Bought this to scan 35mm slides that have been stored away for years. I'm an amateur and using the default settings produces good quality image. Will scan Kodachrome and other generic types.
