Works great easy to use

This is a sturdy and well thought out fishing tool. I tested the claim of water proofing and floating. It appears to do this well enough as shown in my photos. The spring clip for holding fish does not float, as sown in my photo of it sunk to the bottom of the bow of water. The battery housing is sealed and has nice metal female screw holes embedded in the plastic body for better durability. Note that the unit comes without batteries and takes two AAA. Also note that the otherwise well designed lid does NOT have screw keepers and the small screws are easy to drop. I would not try to change batteries on the water because if this. The big plastic clip has a strong spring that is reminiscent of an exercise hand grip. I used the scale to register a 12-15lb. spring pressure. Although the instructions say this clip will be less harmful to the fish than running the smooth metal hook through the hull plate, I have to wonder a little about that. I think you’d have to be careful either way. The bout in tape measure is water sealed with a robust plug when not in use. It is not clear if it is made if stainless steel or regular steel. I didn’t test it. If you do get it wet, it is not obvious how to dry it if it goes back j to its water tight compartment still wet. It may be a non-issue; tine will tell. The display and operation are all good and it feels sturdy. I had to dry-lab this review because it is not dishing time here just now. I will update if needed.

This has been insanely easy to use, even for my girls who don't fish all the time and still learning how to properly handle bass out of our pond. The gripper keeps damage happening to the gills or mouth structure as well over other scales. Love the tape measure what an ingenious idea and keeps you legal with your crappie or other limited fish. This is a tackle box must-have.

After opening packaging, I inspected the item and found that this item appeared to be used already. The packaging includes the Scale, Fish Clip and small screwdriver. The small screw driver tip was broken/stripped. The fish clip was dirty on the handle. Besides the initial issue with that, I proceeded to test the item. The packaging is the only source of instructions. The right hand side has the operation guide printed, which is short, straight forward and easy to understand. The scale itself seems well put together. Very lightweight, comfortable using the handle or gripping from the side. The back of the unit has two very small screws for the battery door. After removing the battery door, you can see the rubber seal used for waterpoofing. The unit uses two AAA batteries which are not included. Installed batteries, turned on and was greeted with a simple backlit lcd screen. Tested with a 2 pound weight and unit measured accurately. Tried out the Tare function by adding a small chain in between weight and unit zeroed out correctly, once again displaying 2lbs. This unit claimed to float and be waterproof. I decided to verify, kept unit turned on and tossed it into my pool on this nice sunny day. The claim appears to be true so far, unit was floating with no signs of water breaching the case. Pushed and held under water for approx 5 minutes with no issues. I was a bit worried about the built in measuring tape located on the right side to be a possible water intrusion point, but it seems the plug works great at keeping water out. The measuring tape itself reels out and in with ease, measuring out to just over 3 feet. Overall, this seems like a quality unit for its price point. I will put it through some more abuse out on the lake and update my review on reliability/durability. For now, I would recommend this for a fair priced handheld scale.

I purchased this scale on 4/14/24 and it worked great the first time I got to used it. The 2nd time I used it, a few months later, the batteries were dead and the center "lb/oz/tare" button wasn't working. It won't push so I cannot set anything. The scale works but I cannot set the tare at all. Also the scale will go to the hold mode on weighing but there is no way to un-hold it and do another weighing. I believe it is also not allowing the scale to turn off and it is quickly draining the batteries. I replaced the batteries in the evening and they were dead the next morning. The scale is totally useless and I am past my return date. I don't know who to contact for a possible warranty return, if that is even possible. I have stored this scale in the top tray of my tackle box so there was no way the button could have been damaged or accidently pushed while stored.

I love the ergonomic feeling of this scale. It fits perfectly in my hand. I also like that it can accurately weight up to 99 lbs. The measuring tape is an added bonus (it is in inches and millimeters). The only addition I have would be that the fish gripper spring is very strong. It is great for holding the fish and it not slipping, but it would be difficult for a child to hold open the gripper on their own. Otherwise, I love this scale!

Really happy to have a scale that is both waterproof and floats. Also really nice that it has a built-in tape measure too. No issues with this scale so far, it seems to work great.

This came just in time to take it ice fishing today! I didn't even realize it had a measuring tape right on it all build into one! So good to have in the tackle box. Works as it should very smooth and super easy. So happy I found this! My boyfriend was pumped for it!
