I found this book and iRest in 2006 and experienced a life time's worth of anxiety literally dissolve from my heart revealing an ever-present sense of Wholeness just waiting to be remembered. Eventually I realized that we are MORE than anything that has, is or will ever happen to us which in turn brought peace and freedom. Richard Miller PhD, presents a 10 step protocol based on the ancient practice of yoga nidra which invites us to this realization. The book also shares how adaptable the practice of iRest is as we move through our every day lives. While Mindfulness is certainly helpful, iRest is transformative.

Intriguing Practice to Inner Reality
Yoga Nidra is a compelling practice that enables the practitioner to access that Inner Reality and infinite spaciousness that is stable, steady and forever present. We suffer because of our attachments to life are impermanent, unstable and fleeting. We are fooled by our contrived ego that these attachments will make us happy but eventually will lead to our suffering. During this practice of Yoga Nidra, you intentionally enter a state that approximates sleep; however, you are dreaming but at the same time are completely awake. This is a compelling and unique practice achieving a deep calm, lessoning of anxiety and other benefits. However, it does appear that professional guidance is needed to maximize benefits.

Richard Miller explains clearly and completely how the practice of Yoga Nidra can have a profound effect on one's health and wellbeing. This book helps take that practice to an even deeper level of awareness and the connection with all.

Can listen for free with kindle
I may be prematurely rating this but I’m doing so because there’s a review saying the cd doesn’t come with the kindle so you have to get it separately. You don’t have to there’s a link in book that takes you to them for free to listen to or download.

Excellent Book but the Kindle/Digital Version Does Not Include the Accompanying CD
I started reading this book since yesterday and it seems to be a great book about Yoga Nidra. Concepts well explained and the author seems to know his topic very well, and he also seems genuinely interested in transmitting the teachings properly to new and advanced students alike. It should be rated 5 stars, but since I purchased the Kindle edition and the presentation of the product does not state that the Kindle version is missing the accompanying CD, I am giving it 4 stars. If you go to their publisher's website at soundstrue.com, it specifically states there that the Amazon version does not have the CD, but it doesn't say it in Amazon, which I think it should. Now I have to inquire about how to get the CD from Sound True when they are open, purchase the Amazon paperback version, or purchase the digital version at their publisher's website. Still, this does not detract from the quality of the contents. Just purchase the paperback version at Amazon or buy the digital version at the publisher's website if you are interested in the CD.
