IP68 Waterproof Junction Box, 3-Way Outdoor Cable Connectors, Y-Type PA9 Electrical Junction Box, Gland External Cable Wire Connector for Ø 4mm -15mm Diameter Cable - Black

I have dabbled with a number of these waterproof boxes for a garden project and this product was by far the best. The construction of the box is solid, the connectors actually work properly and the access for three way armoured (and inflexible) cable is good. Be aware that some connectors are entirely impossible when working with armoured cable as they offer no room to manoeuvre the wiring into the chocolate box.

I needed to split a cable to install a new external light and causing the least amount of damage/work. This little unit was perfect. The seal on the cables looks tight. It does come with its own 3-way connector block with screws. I find these useless for stranded wires there was not enough flex left in the cable so I used my own straight Wago connectors instead.

Used for terminating armoured cables in lamp posts. Although you can’t take the armour glands directly into the box, you can gland and bond below and bring the inner sheath in through the stuffing glands supplied with the box. Box seems robust but durability of plastic will need to be evaluated longer term. Chinese manufacturer and QA standards not verifiable. Not had any problems so far though

Perfect for connecting my domestic exterior Philips LED floodlights. Working well and watertight even in the heaviest downpours.

Pretty easy to wire up and the connection points look impressively watertight (though I haven’t turned the garden hose on it to check).

Looks good did not use it yet but product should be fine if not I’ll let you know

I’ve not used it yet as the outside light I bought came with one of them but always worth having a spare one

Used this unit for external spike uplights. The connector supplied was too small - If you are using 3 x cabke connections in the junction box with the correct cable thickness, it was impossible to fit them. I used a bigger connector instead. It worked ok, but I wondered about leaving all those junction box screws exposed to the elements over time.
