A Nice, Stable Stand With a Bonus...
General Impression: A clever design along with excellent build quality. Provides good stability in either lateral directions. In my case, I park my bike on hard surfaces like concrete or decking. Some have complained of compromised stability on soft or grassy surfaces; I’m sure that’s true but I’ve never seen any kickstand that was stable on that type of terrain, especially sloping. Installation: Installation is straightforward and requires little time. Hardware is provided to accommodate the two most common mountings. If your bike has a bottom mounting plate with a standard-size hole, then just use the shorter of the two socket-head screws. If yours is the other type (no bottom plate), you will need to use the provided top-plate along with the longer screw; this creates a “sandwich” clamp. When extended, the two legs of the stand form an A-frame (see photo); each leg has its own adjustable foot. For best results you should select a foot position that, when the stand is extended, will lift the rear wheel slightly - creating a tripod effect (front wheel plus two-legged stand) for maximum stability. In my case, the factory set leg adjustment was correct, right out of the box. (My bike is a 27.5 inch with medium frame.) Performance/Function: With a conventional kick-stand, either actuation or retraction can be accomplished by leaning the bike away from you, etc. This is not the case with this stand. You will need to lift the rear wheel slightly to allow both feet of the stand to clear the ground sufficiently in order to retract the stand with your foot. Some may find this awkward but in my opinion, I find this a small price to pay for the stability and one other bonus… One of the features that attracted me to this stand was the ability to service the rear wheel by allowing it to "free-wheel" when the stand is extended. This makes for easy servicing of the front and rear derailleurs and so forth. When retracted, the stand folds neatly out of the way with plenty of ground clearance (see photo). All in all, I am very pleased with this stand; oh, and the price was reasonable.

As a multi-motorcycle owner, I have a different take on how this stand should be utilized
July, 2021 update - I've installed 3 of these center stands on bicycles. They work great - see full review below: I've owned all sorts of motorcycles and the best motorcycle stands from my experience are center stands. You typically find a center stand on import motorcycles - Asian and Italian cycles are most likely to have center as opposed to Harleys that have side stands. This bicycle stand mimics the center stands on it's motorized cousins. I saw one customer video where the reviewer removed the adjustable stand feet completely so the bike would balance by 3 points. That practice makes the bicycle inherently unstable on anything but a perfectly flat and smooth surface. It's also a complete misunderstanding of how this stand really works yet 60 some people found the review "helpful". Check out the motorcycle photo I attached - the red arrow points to the ground gap between the read tire and the ground - 2 points of contact, the stand and front wheel. That's how a center stand should work - NOT 3 points of contact - the wheels and the stand, just the stand and one wheel. This particular stand works really well once you understand the center stand concept. I've been using it for a while and the bike has not fallen over yet. The spring works well, the stand stays out of the way and when you deploy the stand, your rear wheel can spin freely for quick on the road service. So try the 2 points of contact "rear wheel off the ground" method and see if it works for you. Remember, this a center stand, NOT a repair stand and it's designed so you aren’t dropping your bike on the ground when you hop off the bike. It’s not going to be rock solid in the best of circumstances. Hope that helps!

Bolt hole partially stripped on first receipt; second receipt in better shape
Top 1/2" of bolt hole is stripped. As a result, even the long bolt is still too short for a pretty ordinary bike, since the bolt has to sink 1/2" into the piece before it gets any grip on thread. On the possibility that this someone else purchased this, stripped it, sent it back, and the company resold it as new, i shall purchase a second one and return this to see if i encounter the same issue. The other possibility is that the person tapping these bolt holes does not know how to use a tap properly, and is stripping them at the factory. We shall see. UPDATE: second receipt did not have this defect. Remains unclear whether this is poor manufacturing or reselling damaged parts as new—either way some further attention to quality assurance is warranted. I ended up using a slightly longer bolt than provided (3/8-16 thread) to get more thread on the bolt; if customers are stripping and returning these, perhaps including a slightly longer bolt is an inexpensive solution. In any case, i recommend that anyone purchasing one of these inspect the bolt hole and make sure the thread is intact all the way to the surface; return for replacement if not. Having installed it i find it satisfactory. I have my doubts as to whether the height adjustment design would stand up to putting a significant load on the bike, but the bike i installed it on isn't meant for cargo. On the plus side the flaired feet will be much more stable on dirt or packed sand than the traditional pointy ends. The bend at the top of the legs seems well engineered and easily clears even the relatively fat tires i have on this bike. There is some interference on my frame with the rear derailleur cable but this is more a deficiency in the frame design; i may end up using a Dremel to cut a slot in the kickstand head for the cable to pass through. The hex bolt head has a fairly large profile that nearly contacts the front derailleur cable. Using a socket cap bolt rather than hex head would be a small design improvement although i can imagine customers' lacking the right Allen key for it, so perhaps that is best left as an end-user upgrade rather than having to bump the price. It would be nice if some neoprene strip were included so that one could install the kickstand without clamping down directly onto the frame and damaging the paint, possibly leading to frame corrosion at a high-stress location. I used some cut up inner tube as a cushion to protect my frame, but a couple of pieces of 1/8" neoprene with a center hole for the bolt to pass through would have provided superior protection and been easier to install.

I had to do a slight modification on the clip to fit.
