Safe for use for potable water
I use this silicone grease for lubricating the O-ring in my whole-house water filtration system. Doesn't harden, keeps the seal tight.

Ok Silicone but Doesn’t Match Picture
The picture is what I bought last time but this time it came in a flat tin and not a tube. Although the open tin is easier to get at product, it’s also easier to get contaminated, especially on a dive boat environment. I may not buy this next time.
