THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING DIET BOOK PHENOMENON If you’ve ever suspected that not everyone should eat the same thing or do the same exercise, you’re right. In fact, what foods we absorb well and how our bodies handle stress differ with each blood type. Your blood type reflects your internal chemistry. It is the key that unlocks the mysteries of disease, longevity, fitness, and emotional strength. It determines your susceptibility to illness, the foods you should eat, and ways to avoid the most troubling health problems. Based on decades of research and practical application, Eat Right 4 Your Type offers an individualized diet-and-health plan that is right for you. In this revised and updated edition of Eat Right 4 Your Type, you will learn: • Which foods, spices, teas, and condiments will help maintain your optimal health and ideal weight • Which vitamins and supplements to emphasize or avoid • Which medications function best in your system • Whether your stress goes to your muscles or to your nervous system • Whether your stress is relieved better through aerobics or meditation • Whether you should walk, swim, or play tennis or golf as your mode of exercise • How knowing your blood type can help you avoid many common viruses and infections • How knowing your blood type can help you fight back against life-threatening diseases • How to slow down the aging process by avoiding factors that cause rapid cell deterioration INCLUDES A 10-DAY JUMP-START PLAN Review: How do you know what is good for you to eat? - We've heard "You are what you eat" but what most folks have not heard is that what you eat may be healthy for some people but unhealthy for you. This valuable book explains the what and why of how various foods are good for some but bad for others, depending on your blood type. This 25th year revision contains the complete food lists that were not in the original book so you have it all in one place. It is based on years of research by Dr. D'Adamo which actually started with his father decades ago. If you actually follow the food guidelines for your blood type it can make a huge difference in your overall health and energy level. I know that from experience. If you play with it and "cheat" a lot it won't make any difference at all. "Diet" means what you eat, not some list of things to eat to lose weight. This is not a weight loss diet, but a life style plan with food lists of the things that are beneficial (helpful) for your body and the things that are making you sick, or at lest less than as long term healthy as you should be. The great thing about this Blood Type Diet is that you will lose weight if you need to, or you will gain weight if you need to. (Yes, some people are too skinny for good health.) If you look at the "avoid" food lists and say "Oh I can't give that up. I love it!" it is possible that "it" may be what is making you sick, tired, fat, or whatever else is less than healthy. If you look at the list of "beneficial" foods and think "What delicious meals can I make with these ingredients?" you are on your way to the right path for yourself. It changed my life. This is the 3rd or 4th copy of this book I've purchased because I keep giving them away to folks who need this information and are interested enough to do the work involved. For a lot more in depth knowledge of blood type life styles, also look into Live Right 4 Your Type which is a lot more advanced in explanations and terminology. However: Eat Right is a great place to start. Review: This should be required reading for doctors - It’s hard to believe that doctors don’t have any working knowledge of how much blood types affect our health. Why aren’t they taught this in med school? I can’t help wonder why more doctors don’t teach people about eating for their blood type—how they’ll feel better, have more energy, and lose weight as an added bonus. The first part of the book may seem tedious if you’re wanting to skip to your blood type’s foods, but please don’t. Understanding how our blood interacts with everything we eat may help you stay on task, with only occasional slips. I didn’t read much of the first chapters many years ago and the result was that I made a few important changes (no wheat for me), but forgot about others (I love dairy but it’s a hard NO for me). I couldn’t figure out why I felt awful all the time. Turns out practically everything I eat should be off limits. As I start eating the right things I’m looking forward to feeling much better by next week.

The diet that makes sense--based on your blood type
I have been a health & wellness enthusiast all my life. I was a vegetarian runner and weightlifter from the age of 19 to 42. Then my health plummeted and I grieved what my body used to be and thought would never be again. Long story short, I was "diagnosed" with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is a farce. When doctors run every test on you that is associated with fatigue and they all come back "normal", they literally tell you that you have CFS because they can't pinpoint what is causing it. I now know it's my BLOOD and the vegetarian diet I was feeding it was not what a Type O needs. We are the Original ("O" for original) blood type of the first man, who was a hunter and gatherer to survive. We need MEAT, preferably RED meat and a few other options. We also need intense physical activity, but I was unable to contine my exercise routine due to my fatigue. I felt like I was reading my own health journal when Dr. D'Adamo writes "Type O's who do not express their physical natures with appropriate activity in response to stress are eventually overwhelmed during the exhaustion stage of stress response ... this can lead to depression, fatigue or insomnia ... and if there is no change, you will leave yourself vulnerable to a number of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders"!!! That was ME. I've been on antidepressants and sleep meds for 20 years. Then I had two bouts of COVID-19 and felt like death for months. When I read this book about all four blood types--O, A, B, & AB, I realized my diet of chicken, all fish & seafood, all vegetables & fruits was not right for my blood. When I made the changes for Type O, I immediately felt a difference. There were rare times during my fatigue phase where I would eat a juicy steakhouse hamburger and feel like a million bucks the next day. I told several doctors this, and they were baffled since red meat has been criticized for its cholesterol for many years. Dr. D'Adamo is an alternative health doctor and looks to food as medicine instead of Big Pharma drugs. The book is fascinating, explaining how each blood type originated due to migration issues and adopting which foods were available in that particular region of the world. It makes sense! And each blood type had its own "fingerprint" and explains why it has particular needs and foods that will cause problems. I highly recommend this book! (I've also purchased The Type O Cookbook, which makes it even easier to follow.)

Hard to make this changes but worth it
this book and whole concept brought my world in different understanding . I am 42 female with busy schedule and 2 kids, job. Last 2 years feel more tired and can not function well by the end of the day- then you still have to do a lot ! Along with that my face was aging faster then I could bare and it was adding more stress to my day . my one kid is overweight - always hungry , another is very skinny -never want to eat . I am for "home made dinners " and straggling but cooking myself from health point . And still all around was not well . So, I was searching for answers for long time - here I got this book - I took it very seriously - I realized that my kids have 2 different blood types - so they must eat different things for best results - - not from one pot! so I shifted my cooking - my teen face- cleared from acne withing 5 days or so - ( we went thought derm doc , month of antibiotics m creams and washes at sky prices - nothing was working ! ) and then in 2-3 weeks my small one becoming shaping up and looking so much better . Now we are about 6-7 weeks since we started and results are great. About me- I am size 10- fat is changing in to muscles , I got my energy level from the second week ( I do not workout ! ) ,all my bags under eyes is gone , and skin becoming so firm and radiant - every morning I am glad to see myself getting younger ! yes, the author said it- this book and info it is for your best body performance . And I so agree with him . But the hard part is -to follow all his advices . We had to quit all grains - I am type O - and it was very hard to put my carbs and wholegrain toast aside and make walnuts and cranberry only for breakfast- but now I get used to it- and I do not have anymore any cravings for cookie and breads as before . I am not hungry as often as before . I eat much less and feel so good- my eyes is clearing and shine bright . I look younger 5-7 years in 7 weeks - and I do not need to worry about my wrinkles - I am very pleased with info I found in this book . It is life turning ! I will stay my whole life on that way of eating and please take care of yourself and do the same- buy this book and change your health ! Good luck !

CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME, PLEASE SHARE WITH OTHERS. BUY THE BOOK!
After 10 years of dealing with CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME!!! The Drs told me there was no cure and to treat the symptoms. All my labs were perfect! This book is a true GOD SEND. Read about this condition and imagine living life like that. I was at my wits end dealing with such a debilitating condition. THIS BOOK SAID THAT MY BLOOD TYPE B SHOULD NOT EACH CHICKEN and several things that I was eating that are healthy but like poison to my blood. I stopped the chicken and within 2 days, LITERALLY, my symptoms were 70% improved. Chicken, avocado, tomatoes, chick peas, cinnamon and black pepper were my staples. ALL ON MY AVOID LIST. If I slip up and eat some hidden ingredients, I can tell very quickly. NO JOKE. The snack aisle is the devil. The ingredients are loaded with EVERYTHING! I am a label reader now. Remember, its not whether something is healthy or not, its blood type specific. That's the beauty of this book. Cater to your blood type and feel better. ALL PRAISES TO THE ALMIGHTY, HE HELPED ME RIGHT ON TIME.

Meh
I think it depends a little on your tastes versus the plan for your blood type. I gave it a month and was left with no discernible difference in weight or wellbeing, which I know probably isn't enough but it just wasn't worth it to go any further with it. I'm not picky (in fact I love most foods) but this diet was too strict for me and in fact was pretty stressful to adhere to. If I could hire a personal chef I might have been able to work it out, but I'm a single guy with two jobs and there's just no way. I had to plan meals out days ahead to keep under budget and dodge my avoids. Long and short, any reasonable diet will work as well as this one, but the adage that a good diet is one that you will stick with is probably more important than anything related to the thesis of this book. So try it. It's worked for lots of people and not for lots of others. Just like every other fad diet out there. P.S.: If you balk at the price of this book, chances are you can't afford to follow the plan. Leaf through it at your local bookstore and try to plan a day. You'll see what I mean.

Eat Right 4 Your Type (Revised and Updated): The Individualized Blood Type Diet® Solution
This is a book each and everyone should get. The best thing is trying to get the organic products and depending on where one is you might not get all the products that you might want to. There are also products especially fruits you have loved, but you might have to avoid, that is hard, but I think it helps. Thank you for this book

Interessant!

Hoy día sigo la filosofía: eat food - Not too much - mostly plants. El libro eat right 4 your type fue el inicio. El libro usado en muy buena condición.

The Zodiac, but for Your Refrigerator
I inherited this book, which is appropriate because parts of it feel like nutritional wisdom passed down from an eccentric relative who has strong opinions about lentils. Eat Right 4 Your Type divides humanity into the familiar A, B, AB and O blood groups, then proposes different foods and lifestyles for each. It combines nutrition, human evolution, ancestry and enough blood-type philosophy to make you wonder whether your red blood cells have secretly been judging your grocery cart. It is essentially the zodiac of eating. Type O is sent toward protein, Type A toward plants, Type B gets its own peculiar menu, and Type AB is apparently the complicated fusion cuisine of the blood world. Scientifically, the central theory has not been validated. Studies have found that some of the recommended eating patterns may improve health, but not because they match the eater’s blood type. So I would treat this as an interesting guide to a popular nutritional theory, not as a medical instruction manual. Still, it is genuinely fascinating, entertaining and full of ideas about food, ancestry and the origins of blood types. Read it with curiosity, keep your critical faculties switched on, and perhaps do not allow your blood type to order dinner unsupervised.
