Firstly... this scale wouldn't be accurate enough to use in a laboratory as you do get a small amount of fluctuation... However, it is definitely accurate enough for my needs. I make my own Masalas... Masala is a homemade base powder for curries and other spicy recipes. It has 14 different spices and is an Indian recipe from 1904... It is trully remarkable. It takes away my need to think about presents for birthdays and christmas because my friends literally beg me to give them this Masala year after year... They never get tired of it and you cant buy anything like it from the shops... even specialist asian supermarkets... It is labour intensive to make, expensive and complicated and each of the spices need to be weighed out accurately... very accurately... a slight variation from the recipe and it isn't right... With the high cost of good quality spices, a 'bad batch' will waste a lot of money... These scales give me the accuracy I need to replicate the recipe time and again... It has a useful calibration weight that I use before every batch of Masala... It is more expensive than some of the others that are available, but I feel it is worth it for the peace of mind it gives me... Recommended

bought this scale to weigh air gun pellets and does the job brilliantly, it measures down to the last two digets which is what you need, ie 11.92 foe example while others would just say 11.9, its a good product.

Well, it's not perfect. Air gun pellets are weighed in grains, which this scale has. It also goes to 2 decimal places on grains which is good, but it doesn't do odd numbers so 0.02 grain increments. It sometimes weighs a pellet at 9.76 and then 9.74, then 9.76 again. I can cope with that. You DO need to weigh the pellets in the same place every time though so i drew a small dot on what looked like the middle with a sharpy and weighed from there each time. I'm actually quite happy with these scales for less than £20. They're fairly accurate and accurate enough to seek out the flyers from a tin of pellets. I use QYSwhich are quite consistent compared to JSBs but you can see from the image i ranged from 9.56 grains to 9.86. It should help bring the benchrest accuracy in a bit.

Delivery was excellent arriving as promised the very next day - although rather cheap looking ( entirely made from plastic) these scales are genuinely capable of measuring weights fairly accurately to 3 decimal places ie milligram (+/- 1) - any scales capable of this degree of accuracy are very delicate and these are no different they need to be handled with care - the stated max weight limit is 50 grams and every care must be taken to NOT exceed this as doing so will almost certainly destroy the precision mechanism. Genuinely useful pocket scales capable of accurate weighing to 3 decimal places ie. MILLIGRAM

Putting up a review as I’ve been using this nearly a year ago and it’s been exactly what I needed. Very straightforward to use and calibrate. Some had complained about needing to calibrate all the time but I’ve found I’ve only needed to do this if I’ve knocked it about or mistreated it and when I do the weight provided makes this quick and easy. Not had to change the battery yet to happy with battery life too. It also disassembles for cleaning, though the grooves in the design means this isn’t a super easy process. Overall very happy

I bought it for my mother in law. She says it’s what she needed to measure some spices.

It works fairly well but if you need something very accurate maybe look elsewhere. Need constant re-zeroing and you can retry weighing the same item several times and you will get different weights 2 times out of 4.
