What is the pad on the bottom filled with? What type of fabric covers the pad? Is the padding adequate and comfortable?

Filled with tiny Styrofoam bubbles. It is real lightweight because of this. Material is 100% polyester which you would spot treat. It looks like the type of material they would use to line a gym bag.

Will this prevent lap burn?

My laptop gets very warm when charging. The LapGear lap desk fully insulates me from that heat. I can't feel the heat at all thanks to the cushion on the bottom of the desk. It's filled with foam beads. The insulating cushion helps me position the desk as I choose and does not make my legs feel hot either.

Kid love it

My kid love laying on the bed to do her drawing so I got her this, at least now she have a hard surface to draw on. Got the black so I won’t be able to see all the markers stain. It’s big enough to support my iPad Pro 12.9 too.
