Quickshine Silver Clean And Shine Bath

OMG! This stuff works! Just be sure all pieces ARE TOUCHING. I had to treat my service of 12 silverplate silverware twice, rearranging the pieces the second time to allow the solution to remove all the tarnish. Not sure I want to use it on my sterling though…might just use my Wenol (which is fabulous cream silver cleaner).

I inherited a lot of beautiful silverware and serving trays from my mom, and over the years they’ve naturally tarnished. This product makes cleaning them incredibly easy. Whenever I decide it’s time to polish my silver, this is the product I reach for. It quickly removes tarnish and brings back the shine without a lot of scrubbing or effort. I always keep a package in the cabinet so it’s there whenever I need it. If you have silver that has lost its shine, I highly recommend keeping this on hand. It makes what used to be a tedious job fast and simple.

THIS PRODUCT BARELY WORKS AND IS MORE DIFFICULT TO USE THAN SILVER POLISH! I have multiple silver serving pieces that need polishing and thought this would be quick and easy. 1. items don't go in the sink as shown, you must have a plastic bin to put into your sink. 2. My bin was 15 gallons. You have to cover everything in BOILING water. My 2 largest tops totalled 11 quarts so I could only put a few items in. 3. Nothing came out more than slightly better than it went in. 4. You need rubber gloves to handle heavy pots to move to the sink and then you have to rinse in warm, soapy water which meant taking the bin out of the sink. 5. Items with handles were broken off probably because the boiling water ruined the connection. My kitchen now looks like a disaster area with spilled water and pots that need to be washed!

I found this product to be more effective when using a large stainless-steel pot (I used one I use for canning). I placed the silver on top of the packet, then poured boiling water into it from another pot. It did not work at all when using a rubber bin as shown in the instructions or in a set tub. I am giving the product a 4 because it didn't get the silver as bright as advertised in the picture. I am sharing pictures of a tea set where parts of the dishes were above the water line. You can see where a lot of the tarnish came off. Even though the tarnish was not completely removed, it came off without a fight using a standard polish. The parts that were not submerged took a lot more work.

Quickshine did not work as expected certainly not in in 5 minutes which is fine though, but what i was not satisfied with is the shine and single packet does not work for 5-10 utensils. Overall average product.

I used this to restore my very fine, delicate, silver jewelry, that is, with surfaces, beads and parts that are too tiny to be polished successfully with creams, treated cloths, etc. The product does work, but not as well as I had hoped on heavily tarnished items, two or more treatments is required to make those wearable again. I followed the directions, any from my experiences, I have the following tips to offer: 1. Put a fine strainer over the sink drain, just in case; 2. The sachet floats up when the boiling water is poured, so have a couple heavy sterling spoons handy to push it back down, and move any displaced items back in contact with it; 3. Have two plastic dishpans ready - one with hot soapy water for washing items after treatment, one with plain hot rinse water; 4. Have a fine strainer ready for final draining and a clean, dry towel to place rinsed items on; and 5. I left the jewelry in the solution for 10 minutes, not 5 as in the directions, and got better results; it is a chemical reaction and one can see the bubbling action and the tarnish forming a gray scum on top of the solution. After about 10 minutes, most of the action is done, so I removed the items so that the tarnish would not redeposit. Because it is a chemical reaction, it's really important not to introduce any other metals to the solution, even stainless steel. It is safe for glass beads and relatively inert or siliceous gems or mineral beads like all forms of quartz, garnet, etc. As a geologist, though, I wouldn't recommend risking it with soft minerals, or less inert ones, like pearl, coral, opal or turquoise, malachite. Or you could remove one bead from the back and test it in your next batch, if you don't know what it's made out of. I hope these tips help! I think this type of product ("silver dip") is really the only way to make heavily tarnished silver items presentable again, and this is the best I've tried, probably partly because of the heat added by the boiling water. I recommend it and am looking forward to trying in on my sterling utensils.

I wanted a less labor intensive way of cleaning household silver. Something that didn’t need so much elbow grease. This was what I was looking for. I followed the instructions. Used boiling hot water and got shiny new silver! The instructions are a bit misleading. They tell you to soak your silver for only 5 minutes. Guess what? It actually takes much longer for it to work its magic - especially if your pieces are bigger in size. Also, it works best when the pieces are touching the sachet directly. And the fizzle of the sachet when the boiling water hits it? Very subtle. But that does not mean it’s not working. I kept my pieces in much longer than 5 minutes with no discernible damage to my silver. Pieces that were done can be got out sooner. Others can be left in the bath longer. Make sure there is enough water to cover all your silver pieces. Areas of silver not completely immersed in water will not get clean. Try to handle silver pieces with gloves or tongs. The silver bath has a soapy texture & is not harsh on your skin but it’s preferable to avoid direct contact with it. I am a convert. I will be using this method going forward to clean my silver!

Very poor results. They only clean things that are really touching the surface of the thing you put in the water. As it discovers in the water, you can use it for little amount of silvery, so not worth the money.

Wir haben super verschnörkeltes , altes Silberbesteck bekommen und ich wüsste nicht, wie man das hätte polieren können, daher der Kauf des Bades. Da die erste Anwenung das Besteck noch nicht in allen Ecken gereinigt hat, haben wir den Durchlauf wiederholt und teils auch länger einwirken lassen, was letztlich alle Verfärbungen beseitigt hat. Schäden konnte ich nicht feststellen, trotz der längeren Einwirkzeit. Gründlich abgespült danach und noch einmal mit einem stinknormalen Geschirrtuch trockenpoliert und alles glänzt einnwandfrei!

I am thrilled that this products. I had an important birthday celebration and wanted to show off my silver plate and solid silver table ware. The silver items were rather dull and tarnished, but after 5 to 10 minutes (following instructions), the cutlery and other items looked like new again, without polishing them. Thank you so much.
