As someone who doesn't use my controllers for more than a few hours at a time, I have had no trouble with the battery life. I did, however, come into the issue of accidentally putting the battery into my controller wrong. Which almost broke my controller. But that's user error, so just pay attention to what you are doing! The charging port works fine, but the light that indicates which batteries are charged isn't always accurate. I have not had any troubles with overheating, as other people have been mentioning.

This is high quality and I’m loving it so far! But I’ve seen some reviews that I can easily understand why they are having some issues. Light flickering/odd behavior - this is a high power battery charger so you can’t plug this into your Xbox or the wall puck that came with your cell phone, as those are only 1 amp or less. You need a wall puck that does at least 3 amps. Controller won’t turn on/ battery stuck - the battery has an orientation, you can’t just throw it in. And this is actually a good thing. Pay attention to the notch on one side of the battery, it fits into a notch in the battery well of the controller. If you get that backwards it’s going to take a lot of force to insert and then it will be tough to remove, and also the controller will not turn on. Paying attention to these 2 details, the device and batteries are fantastic. Very tasteful looking battery dock that nails the Xbox theme.

Love these rechargeable batteries with the dock! So convenient it plugs right into the Xbox and charges the batteries as needed. Saving so much on not having to constantly buy batteries now! HIGHLY RECOMMEND I plan to purchase more to gift to a couple family members as well. I also just realized there’s a light button, so convenient!

Does what it's intended for, got no problem with it, much better than fumbling with regular AA rechargeable batteries.
